I have also learned that next time someone adds me to a Facebook group I am going to leave it immediately.
The upside of having no friends is .... nobody's ever done that to me.
I think adding people to groups is just "rude".... by all means let me know about a group, but to be randomly added would be quite disconcerting.0 -

I have very little to do with Facebook. I only opened an account to be able to access my choir and zumba groups, but it's in a pseudonym, everything is as private as it possibly can be, and I've not requested any 'friends'.
What scares me a bit is that you get lists of 'people you might know'. Some of them are people from the aforementioned two groups, but so many are people that I have come across from time to time, but I have no idea how they have been linked to me!
These days I hardly ever log on to it. Can't be bothered and/or find it too unnerving.
I don't do Twitter either, for the same reason. Some years ago I opened an account, then kept getting inundated with stuff, so tried to delete my account and couldn't find a way of doing that, so I just set everything to private and left it.
I'm always very suspicious of sites that won't let you easily delete your account.(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks, Pastures!
I'm sorry if the vagaries of my mind are a laughing stock.

I was originally going to support Ukraine for cheap tickets again, that’s not going to happen. The prices are IMO completely ridiculous for tickets.
Cyprus is effectively Georgia this year (in Eurovision terms anyway), so either is fine. Personal favourite is Iceland, although I can appreciate why some may not agree. I thought it was ‘too much’ at first.
I think Russia will win personally, I’d be happy with that.💙💛 💔0 -

However we may be approaching a point of technological advancement where it becomes increasingly hard for regulators to fully understand the things they're approving.
Theoretically it’s the manufacturer who certifies it and the regulator (in this case the FAA) who rubber stamp it.
Hoping it won’t be in service when I’m flying on a large 737 operator in a few months time, as the crashes are so technologically similar from what we know so far.💙💛 💔0 -

My social media is on lockdown at present, I’m not commenting on goings on elsewhere.
I use Facebook but 99% of ‘friends’ on there are people I have a reason to contact. Most things I share are only to either a group of clients and personal friends unless deemed completely ‘safe’. If not shared as such, posts are updated as such after the purpose of the, being public-ish is exhausted.
Twitter isn’t updated currently and is locked. It may or may not be deactivated very soon.
Instagram is private and again, only people I know and have a reason to contact are there.
My Facebook is linked to my phone. I have noticed that if I add a contact to my phone I can get a ‘people you may know’ link to them afterwards.
The safety of my family is my main priority in this policy.
I’ll stop posting now for a while💙💛 💔0 -

I sort of do FB, but I've got everything turned "off", and just use it to keep in touch with friends.
I don't like this "You may know" thing either. I can find the people I need to know without any suggestions.0 -
I mostly use FB for two reasons: scrolling through family history groups and being alerted to any free weekends and similar, or new record sets .... and reading local groups in areas where I might be considering buying a house to see what they're moaning about and got problems with; sticking your oar in with these groups can then show you what sort of people they might be as neighbours0

I use Facebook because I have a lot of friends who don't live in the UK. I have 3 friends who live in Taiwan for example. My brother and his family live in the US and I have friends in European countries as well. For that it is very useful.
My utahraptor, Natural History Museum stuffed dinosaur has an instagram account. There are posts from the point of view of a dinosaur that are keeping several people amused because it is so ridiculous.0
