I'll put my thinking cap on, I love out of the box thinking and is the way I have coped with/adapted stuff for thus far.

I'll give an example - I have a four poster bed, not a snazzy one I hasten to add but for a while one of the uprights helped me get out of bed, now it helps me move to the position where I can grab my crutch or into an upright position.

Or another one - my bannisters ends before the bottom of the stairs and I was at risk of tripping and falling off the last step so I started to use the shoe rack at the bottom of the stairs to aid that last little bit safely by 'falling' towards it and grabbing the edge.

Put your thinking cap on and come up with a leakproof shower design that really won't leaK even when badly installed.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Pyxis - I'm not sure that would work for me, one of my issues is staying upright long enough without pain to have a shower. Also stepping out without tripping over it or spewing water everywhere would be a bit..err, difficult...I'm not known for my graceful dismounts :rotfl:
There would be a stool inside the bag! :)
I suppose if the water could be drained out first, the the bag could be pushed back down to enable easier stepping out.

    Or something.

That's not what a shower is for :p:p:D:D

    Or something.

I did see something once that was supposed to be a low water usage car wash - IIRC that was like a bag into which you drove the car then sealed up ans set it running. I think it worked something like a dishwasher, although without the whirling jets, just created a moving mist of water IIRC.
Not having had a driveway at the time I didn't look into it any further.

When my mother was discharged from hospital she couldn't get into the bath. The occupational therapist got her a wooden board (like a duck board, slatted) which fitted on top of the bath. The idea was she could sit on that then swing her legs in to the bath (the hard bit). Once sitting there she could use the shower attachment.
All pretty low tech and didn't take up much space. She also had a grab rail attached to the wall to hold on to.

That's why I wondered if a bath seat would help Sue. The one I linked to has a seat back to lean back on, and a swivel seat to make it easier to swing one's legs over into the bath.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm concerned how much/little PN will find out about how much she'll be missed. DT and the Debate forum are two of the three fora you can't access if you're not logged in. :o

Zag, with regard to rap, it may not be music, but think of it as poetry, albeit with a beat. :)

Pyxis, are you replying to a different thread?
It's the fact that it is poetry that bugs me; I can just about tolerate poetry but I couldn't listen to a recital or the same poem twice in a short period. No amount of a beat can tart it up enough for me to say "I've got to hear this guy saying this stuff again". Plus it's a language-specific genre and offers little to listeners unfamiliar with the rapper's native tongue.

But necessary if you have a poorly leg, or other balance problems.

That sounds like fun, providing there is a hole you can poke your head out of.

Yes, I'm using a stool with non-slip feet in the bath, temporarily.

The downside is that even if you are very careful with water pressure and angle of the shower attachment, it's hard to stop spray going everywhere, at least without having a very small flow of water.

I suppose I could rig up a shower curtain on a telescopic rail, but this was supposed to be temporary. (It's been a year now!)

Of course, the ideal solution would be a sonic shower like wot they have on the starship Enterprise! :D:D:D

I think several people have reported to her elsewhere that there have been posts to that effect.

Yes, I know it was another thread! :D
I just thought I'd save time and post it on here! :rotfl:

That's interesting, what you say above. You see, I just love rhythms and beats, and much prefer to listen to poetry that's got a strong metre, so rap is even better. Yes, the downside is that sometimes it's hard to make out the words!

I was a pain in my Chorus because I was always trying to correct rhythms that people weren't singing correctly. Used to drive me bonkers. :D

By the way, I'm at Heathrow.

I nearly died when I saw what was happening at Gatwick, and so very, very thankful that's not where I'm flying from.

I'm crossing all fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes and touching wood all over the place that some copy-cat idiot doesn't try the same trick here.

I've texted her to let her know that lots of people have been posting about missing her, both here and in DT. She has signed up "elsewhere" and NP have been posting there with her.
