No ITU bed at the moment! Not cancelled at the moment but looking eek....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Any update, Sue??Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Operation cancelled again, same reason as before. The consultant has insisted he stays so that he remains prominent and so that they can whip him down to theatre quickly if space in critical care becomes available. We made it! So sorry to hear it's been cancelled, but feeling a little positive that the consultant seems to have a constructive attitude. Hoping that a bed becomes available...Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Oh bum!
But as you say, hopeful that they've kept him in.
What about your mum's op? Did that go ahead?
Will 'splane more about my hol, later, but had a serendipitous meeting on the plane with a group of people complete with orchestral Instruments. I wasn't quite sitting next to a cello, but it was close!
They looked far-eastern, but then I heard them speaking Russian and, my curiosity aroused, I nosily asked where they were from and it was Kazakhstan! They were doing a concert tour of Dublin, Manchester, London, Milan, somewhere else, I forget, and then home!
Pouring with rain here. Some thunder and lightning too. The deep cloud makes it dark, and it gets dark earlier here anyway, and the hotel is very taupe...... taupe walls, taupe carpet, taupe furniture, taupe uniforms on the staff, and very subtle lighting everywhere, so am feeling like I'm in a mole tunnel.(I just lurve spiders!)

Sue, Oh NO! Good he's staying in though, with a bit of luck they'll be able to slide him into a vacant bed before it gets tooken by anyone else?
Thinking of you and your Mum, you must both be horribly worried.
Hope your Mum is still able to get her procedure done OK on Saturday - it seems so difficult to organise anything in NHS these days! <weeps>

Thinking of you, your Mum and your Dad, Sue xx0

Dad's in good spirits, he was a bit eeky earlier on and as a consequence his blood pressure went sky high but someone from his first ward last week (and who is still in hospital), has been to see him a few times and dad has returned the favour and they have had a right good joke session or two between them...two Scotsmen together will do that
Mum's tired, in fact so tired that she forgot to pull the step she uses to get into my car, back into the car after she used it when we left tonight, she now has one squashed step but she was relieved that no mark was left on my car. She also doesn't like being in the house/bed on her own so isn't sleeping particularly well. On top of this, I don't think either of them planned on him being in for an extended period of time ( God knows where I got my planning gene from) and is worried about running out of cash. She doesn't have a debit card (or even a cashpoint card) and even though dad has left his card at home, would have absolutely no clue how to use it. She does have her own savings but we have no time to actually go to the bank to get more out.
Saying that though, on her count up tonight she has more available cash than I do!
I'm shattered, I haven't a clue how I am going to keep going all week. There is no-one else able to take mum to the hospital and I am running on empty already and I still have work to go to this week.We made it!
