I can swim, fine.... I could swim 20 miles if I had to .... but I don't like deep water, I have a fear of hidden dangers under the water (including non-existing monsters that will loom up and eat me), so I prefer to stick closeish to the edges
You can get blow up sit on kayaks too....
I'm really impressed you can swim that far. I get short of breath after only a couple of lengths of the pool. Or, I can go VERY slowly, but then it would take weeks to swim 20 miles.
Maybe you should give swimming lessons?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Besides, water is very drown-inable. :eek:
Dihydrogen Monoxide is REALLY nasty;

I used to be able to swim for miles, now if I try to swim, the movements required do nasty things to my nerves etc and I lose all power in my body apart from one hand.
It was bloody scary the first time it happened I can tell you! I was marooned in the middle of a swimming pool unable to move or even tread water and was rapidly sinking...well until the dual flotation devices called over large boobs came to the rescue :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

just catching up from Japan, as you all talk about you travel desires (or not). Amazing place, but getting about is tricky with the language and the jet lag is hell!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Culturally the Japanese are only too willing to help out anyone struggling. Their culture also means that they won't speak English if they fear they will make a mistake, so a lot of pointing and hand gestures, but little talking. It's quite fun to try and get around on public transport, even if confusing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. In Iceland, in summer, you can get 22+ hours of sunshine in a day. That'd be interesting/great .... winter must be vile though.0
