Get a map and photocopy it. Plot by hand the various houses (use google streetview to see where they are on long roads). Then you can plan a route by hand.
The issue is that you can mark what you like on a map ... but once you're in the driving seat you can't read the map.
And it can be difficult to pull over/stop these days to check the map as roads are designed to "keep you moving".... and by the time you've picked a random turn off to look for somewhere (then found the bloke behind you turned that way too) .. you can be a mile from the turning you missed.0 -

Which is precisely why I got my satnav - the above is an almost perfect copy of the reasons I gave.
Oh, except for the word "random". I wouldn't dare use that, I think you must have the copyright on it by now0 -
'ok google, navigate to aa1 1aa', 'ok google add a way point aa1 ab1'
And of course when on the pc click the send destination to phone option.I think....0 -

The way I used to like to say it was:
"I used to think sat navs were for wimps, because I can read a map. Now that I have become single, I have realised that I can indeed read a map. I can also drive a car. But I can't do both at the same time."
These days I have added an extra reason - the sat nav app on my phone has live traffic information but a paper map doesn't. A while ago I had a courtesy car for a week or so while my car was off the road and it had a proper satnav built into the car. I found it completely useless because it had no live data, so I used the app on my phone instead.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
We are satnavless currently. We used to have one, but it got lost.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Picked up my new car yesterday, now to work out what all the buttons do!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Enjoy getting to know your new car Sue0

In a fit of gardening enthusiasm, coupled with friendly advice from google, I have sawn some yucca plants in half. We had a cluster that were getting too tall and wide. Google tells me that you can saw the trunks and new leaves will spurt from the trunk. Google also mentioned that the ideal time to do this is Spring. The group of 5 will soon be one. Either it will be joined by little yuccas or it won't.
Google also tells me that I can stick the lopped off heads in soil and they will re-root. May save a trip to the tip, if I can find somewhere to put them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
