Scooters are easier for picking up when the terrain changes ... and not having to find somewhere appropriate to secure it. So long as its size/shape isn't awkward to fold/drag behind you.

When I looked earlier, some weigh just 7Kg... they say a 12mile range, but suggest 5-6 miles is closer to the mark. But, in the main, one's only going 4-5 miles max. Also for being able to park close to somewhere, then scoot in the last mile or two.
Walking is ... pretty slow and boring. If you're going somewhere it's to be there, not to count the paving slabs you walk over or the trees you pass...

    Never mind 3 wheel mopeds!
(Anyone remember the "Ariel 3 from the early 70s that never really took off? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_3_(moped))

God, that looks and sounds awful from the description, no wonder it never sold well.

BTW, the link is broken, I think the MSE software's played with the closing brackets so it needs a closing bracket adding to get wiki to display the page.
    Ah, now you're talkiing.
I'd want a Lotus 7 to partner it, though, and an E-Type Coupe for when it's raining :rotfl:

    FIxed that thanks.
I remember there being various tests in the motorbike press at the time for the Ariel 3.
I think it was seen as a bit of a joke, although it was supposed to appeal to "non-motorcyclists"
Cars were getting more affordable, and more people were getting them. It was an anachronism.
The "old" British motorbike industry was never good at getting it right though. At least not until it was too late.
The new Triumphs are supposed to be good.

Car wise, I'll have the same please!
I quite fancy a proper Shelby Cobra as well. And 20s blower Bentley, and a. . .

I think the software got confused because you put the whole sentence in brackets, including the link, so the link ending in a bracket got broken when it saw two brackets.

I wouldn't say no to a Cobra either or even just an Ace - however they were only open tops so that'd be a third car for the odd day when it's not raining :rotfl:
Maybe a Greyhound, they had lids.

    Mind you, there's one AC product I wouldn't want, despite it taking us back the three-wheeler discussion;

No I wouldn't fancy one of those. They were seen as being dangerous even when they were in use. A friend of a friend had one. It kept falling over.

I always quite fancied a Berkeley three wheeler wise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkeley_Cars

But I think I'll keep the Cobra, and swap the E-Type for a really nice Mark 2 with chrome wires.
Ah damn it. As we have unlimited money / garage space in our fantasies, I'll have both!
And an XK to keep 'em company!

If I had unlimited money ... to buy a car ... I'd have something small and practical still. "It's just a car" - and these days it's best not to flaunt what you might have.

Indeed - but if I could have a E-Type I'd also need the "world's fastest tractor" to keep it company ;)

Er I take it you meant an XK120, not the modern thing?

I'd forgotten about the modern thing.
    Yes, XK 120 /150.

I always fancied an Allard. My dad knew somebody who had something to do with them. Nice car he said.

    Never heard of them - had a look on wiki and some of them do look rather nice. Not all, though;

Yep, another one who did a carp 3-wheeler :rotfl:

    Ah you spotted yours!
    Mine's the P1 :D
I don't know much about them either. The only one I can actually remember "seeing" (and then not "in the flesh) was the K1 in the film "Genevieve"
    https://www.imcdb.org/v098967.html
I reckon the body spares situation might be a bit difficult these days. . .

I can just about remember the micro cars craze in the 50s. Dad went to see a very tidy Bond C Minicar Tourer for some reason around that time. Very much like the one here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_Minicar#Minicar_Mark_C_1952%E2%80%9356

I quite like those. I like different, but I also like weird! :)
