Agent's sent me the photos ... not really "happy", but it's not his photography, it's more that I'm annoyed at things in the house, but that's just because I know what's what etc....

It looks "a bit sparse" probably - and I've just noticed that the living room photo has my mug on display ... which is where I shoved it when I grabbed it from the kitchen when he was photographing the kitchen.

The bathroom photo looks really "grotty" .... I should've removed the rubber strip from the bottom of the shower screen and given it a good hard and long scrubbing and soaking as it's a hard water area and it was on the list, but I forgot.... and where I didn't paint it's screaming "shabby and tatty".... so not sure what to do there. I guess he'll have to come back to do the bathroom, but I need to sort out those problems first. *sighs*.

5.30 - still no sign of the gas boiler chappy. I FB'd him to ask "still OK ..." and he's not replied... maybe his phone's in his van and he's stuck under somebody's sink.

Do you have a digital camera? If necessary, I'd insist on the EA re-photographing. However, if you can redo the photos yourself, that avoids an argument.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I went to give the rubber thing a first tackle - and when I got within 6" of it I realised it's not that bad, it's an optical illusion of the camera, lighting and the material the rubber's made of...

I'll still give it a good going over... and dab paint where required ...

*sighs* ... but does it really matter? No, but it's very stressful when you compare you own little life with the photos of others for sale and they have "more stuff/more tasteful stuff" and theirs looks like a home, whereas mine looks like an occasional/empty stopover that somebody's moved out of :)

Maybe/probably I'm just being too harsh .... it's not for an interior design award is it.... nobody but me will notice/care.

Iirc, all the homes for sale programmes insist that less is more when it comes to selling houses. As long as you have furniture in each room that shows what the room is used for, you don't have to go too mad with the dressing it up.

Oh yes, the camera never lies - but it can make things look unlike they really are.

When I was househunting, the agent gave me the particulars of one place, whilst we were looking around it and I ended up giving her a few tips for taking better pics.

One bedroom in particular, was fairly long compared to its width (it could easily accommodate a double bed and two bedside cabinets across the narrower dimension) and had the window in one of the short walls and the door in the other short wall. She'd taken the pic from the doorway, with the usual wide-angle lens that they use to make rooms look bigger - unfortunately it made the room look like just one lane of a bowling alley. I told her that she'd have done better to go into the room, squeeze into one of the corners and shoot the pic diagonally across the room, then it wouldn't look so narrow.

I didn't mind giving her some advise, I wasn't going to buy the place anyway.

... right now there's a stonking great van parked there! Would you believe it.

    Sure it's not a plumber's van?

They use a special "make a cupboard look like a ballroom" lens.

Bathroom's tiny.... so tiny you can't open the door without it hitting the loo seat ... and fat people can't close the door behind themselves as once you've stepped in you have to be slim to get the door back past you :)

No, I checked... I can only see the top 1' of it, looks like a minibus. I watched .... and he eventually went into the house 2 doors down.

If the plumber turns up now he can't park as that van's taking up the whole of next door's space and 1/2 of mine against the fence. Not that he will. FB tells me he saw my message at 5.15, but he didn't reply.

Bit of a nuisance as I believed he was coming and it'd all be all right.

I need to go to the shed to retrieve my washing up bowl (hidden away for viewings) .... so I can use boiled kettle water for washing up. Need a bath really though ... that'll be at the desperate stage by the morning!!

    Do you have:
    A torch,
    A screwdriver, and
    A pair of pliers?

    Are they findable?

Yes and kind of .... but, it'd be the wrong size screwdriver and the wrong pliers.

Somewhere .... in all those boxes I packed and "tidied away/tucked away/stacked" .... I do possess such things.

It'd take either good luck, or a long time, to source them all.

I would suggest it might be quicker and easier to just phone him?
I know phoning is a bit of an anathema, but at least you'd get hold of him.
