When our elder DD went quiet, she was always to be found reading a book.
When her younger sister went quiet....then there was mischief afoot
Should have read,
"Jack is a crafty little so-and-so who likes to read, but also enjoys rule breaking, at which he is adept at not getting caught"0 -
I've got a junior school report somewhere, that says something like "Jack likes to disappear into a book and needs to have other interests"

One day when DD1 was 4 and DD2 was 2, they were both at the bottom of the stairs, and DD1 suggested a game of "Mummies and babies".
First of all, DD2 made crying noises, and DD1 cuddled her and said something like "Don't cry, baby! It's all right, Mummy's here!..... Now you be the Mummy.".
Then DD1 made the crying noises, at which DD2, with a wicked glint in her eye, said "Goin' away!" and disappeared up the stairs :rotfl:
DD1's face was a picture!0 -

6 in formation, followed by another 3 stragglers.
I've seen them at airshows many times but one sticks in the mind more than most.
We were at Boscombe Down and they came in to land (their display was scheduled for later). In they came, line astern, and landed in sequence before lining up to proceed down the taxiway to wherever they were going to be parked.
They got partway down the taxiway when Red One came to a halt and just sat there. Every now and then we could hear him applying more power and we could see the plane bouncing on the suspension but not moving. Eventually, he cut the engine, popped open the lid, climbed out - and gave the nose wheel a hell of a kick before stomping off
It disrupted the rest of the display for some time because anything big that landed couldn't pull up in time for an earlier taxiway access point so had to turn and come back up the runway - meaning that nothing else could take off or land until they were clear of the runway.
A friend was part of the TV outside broadcast unit covering the show and they all got invited to the Officer's Mess in the evening. He said that, well into the evening there were still jibes along the lines of "Skipper broke his aircraft, tee, hee, hee" :rotfl:0 -
Just wrote a really long post and when I came back the page refreshed and lost it. Grrr.
The long and the short of it is that I have these garden bags from Aldi, cheap, work well, and you can take the top stiffener out when not in use and they fold down small for storage. Don't buy the big one though, too heavy when full. 2 pack far more manageable. They are a current Special Buy. Bought mine last year.

Blimey! I'll get those tomorrow....
I've got a pop up rubbish thing, but it'd have been ripped through with the massive thorns in the bramble.... that one cost me about £10 four years ago.
I'm afraid, with the Ikea bags and that pop up thing, I do tend to keep things "for best"
I don't like using/spoiling things... just one of my little foibles.
But at £3.99 for 2 that's a price that's not heart-breaking if one were to get a tiny cut in it or something.
My current one I'd usually use when cutting the grass - and I'd line it with a black sack, and use it to keep the clippings bag upright... and, as it's bigger than black sacks, I'd usually get about 2 black sacks held in it....0 -

Would you say you are procrastinating, or are you being idler than that?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
What a polite lot of estate agents you have. Round here, they tell you how difficult it will be to sell your house, so as to justify their fee.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
