4.19am - woken by movement outside and a car that doesn't sound particularly healthy.
4.30am - car driven off carrying my next door neighbours for their holiday.
They usually holiday in Scotland, the way their car sounded I would be surprised if it made it to Ipswich!
What a way to start your holiday, driving for a whole day!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
40? That's nothing.
There was an interesting bloke named Somerset de Chair. He was an MP, but was forced to stand down because of his, err, over enthusiasm for the opposite sex. I think he was in his mid sixties when he married his fourth wife and still managed to produce a daughter.
She's married to Jacob Rees-Mogg. Who isn't quite as interesting.
My father was almost 50 when I was born. He was 30-ish and thinking about settling down, when he suddenly became a refugee. Fortunately, he found sanctuary in this country. Then the war came along and he got conscripted. Finally, a year after the war, he met my mother, and they were engaged within three weeks. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Well, between you, you and other NP who've mentioned it have finally persuaded me to join Pinterest. I'll talk to DD about contributing to the board, and we can set one up for her too.
So now that you've convinced me, I need advice please. So far I have logged into Pinterest via FB. I don't necessarily want DD to have access to my FB. I'm a member of some secret FB groups for widows etc that wouldn't really be appropriate for her. Should I change my Pinterest login? Or can I allow her to contribute to my board if she's logged in as her? I think she already has a Pinterest ID, and if she hasn't we can make one for her.
She can have her own account and you can allow her to contribute to your boards, and vice versa.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
no kids on bikes or noisy doofers. Could be a good result.
Would be even better if "the muscles" could sort out the doofers!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You're considered "an inferior person, without a voice" when it comes to kids if you've not got any.
That doesn't always hold. If any of our neighbours had complained about my kids (2 girls) behaviour I'd have been down on the kids like a ton of bricks. Mind you, we lived on a horribly busy main road, so no way they'd have been allowed out on their own on bicycles or to play football. OH used to take them cycling in the park down the road.
We did have a set of ferals who played tennis on the side of the house when I was still young and scared of them, but they grew up before I gathered the courage! What got me was when I caught a kid who had climbed over our back yard wall to get his ball back. I grabbed him and marched him through the house and out our front door and told him to never do it again as the wall was unsafe (it was! Shook if you leaned on it!). They never did after that. :rotfl:0 -
Really cheesed off - just had to chuck a practically full glass of G&T out as a fly had drowned itself in it! Urk feel sick now! Oh the joys of a caravan in the country!
Got a clean glass and new G&T now.
OH is taking all the recycling and the bin stuff out now in case that's what's attracting the flies in.
At least we don't currently have cows in the next door field! We think the farmer who leased it may have stopped as the grass wasn't cut and bagged in those big black plastic cylinders this year. And the field up from it is full of ragwort too.0 -

Best thing to do with G&T - had it been a good single malt that'd be a different matter0 -

Yep. Her effortlessly correct English grammar is what gives it away.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
