That was quick, though, Pastures!
Good system for remembering which you've transferred and which not.
A bit of time spent now will save a heap of grief in the future! :T
I always prefix/suffix folders where something significant's happened.
I had one folder on C: with the suffix TxFromDAsItRanOutOfSpace0 -

As I'd been storing data files 99% in one spot it was just a case of going to that root directory and then dragging each over - and renaming it with a suffix -TxToExtHDDJuly2018 as there were a few I didn't bother with and at least if I go back to that HD I won't be in any doubts as to whether I copied it over or not.
Left the old PC plugged into the mains still as the bios battery's dead - and if I do suddenly remember something else in the coming week I don't want to go through all that faffery of having to reset the system clock before it'll reboot without error messages and beeps etc.
What I really need to do is to find the best way to COMPARE across the ExtHDD to see where I've got unnecessary duplicates of files as I've mostly backed up by dragging whole directories over in the past, thus creating 2-3 duplicates over time... or more.
It's always been on the "To Do" list... but isn't everything
Bl00dy power leads look a freakin' mess though. Although they're not tangled in themselves, there's:
A plug with a lead that goes into a 4-way gang
3-4 plugs plugged in
Power lead to the old PC
Power lead/adaptor to this one
Monitor power lead
All the wires for the keyboard and mouse
Monitor lead.
There is the theory that extra storage is cheaper than the value of your time spent dealing with dups....
How about GDPR and your previous internet ventures - all dealt with?I think....0 -
Joe finished his first year of uni with a 2.1, he's chuffed with that as it contained a maths module and also a programming language module he had absolutely no knowledge of prior to going. ...he got a very high first in that module (high 90s).
Also better news from Josh this year after being kicked out and taken back in again on appeal, he finished 2nd year on a 2.2. A huge turnaround for him although his mental health dipped again towards the end otherwise it would have been a 2.1We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Just to say I deleted my post, felt I was showing off
DD is working very very hard and we're very proud of her but she hasn't had to face the sort of obstacles Josh and Joe have.

I think you both have every right to be proud. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Does anyone know how graduates find jobs these days? We would like to recruit a couple but have no idea where/how to advertise, the methods we used successfully in the past that would bring in 100 applications and a dozen interviewable candidates now seem to return 2 or 3 unsuitable cvs.I think....0

Goodness no, be loud and proud! It's not easy for our younger ones and we have to celebrate every success regardless of background. We made it! I'll ask James next time I speak to him. I know he got a lot of his interviews via a recruitment agency that he had to go through an interview and testing process to be allowed to be on their books as they could only forward suitable candidates who met the criteria of their clients.
For his current graduate role, he just used a normal job search site using graduate as a search parameter (I think, I could be completely wrong, he had so many interviews at the time!)We made it!
