New PC unexpected thing to resolve.

There's been this "activate windows" pale wording on the screen. No idea what that is... so I've just started to investigate.... and I have to "do something", so I'm at the stage where I'm confused, lost ... and following instructions from the help system.

    [to be continued]

EDIT: Ah, I clicked "troubleshoot" and it did stuff then said it had activated. Makes you wonder why it didn't do that itself first, rather than bothering me!

Probably something that the person who originally set it up forgot to do.
    Sounds like it's sorted now.

"Should" you ever need it, the Product Key should be on a sticker on the PC case or, if that's something else they forgot to do, with any setup or recovery disk or paperwork.

I don't think that's how Windows 10 works. Once it's been activated, MS store details of the PC on their computers. If it needs reactivating MS should recognise the system and know it has a licence. There's no product key sticker.

However, there are special arrangements for OEMS, such as Dell. Which this is, IIRC.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Cheers, I didn't know that. I'd assumed that it was similar to previous versions.

Graduates respond to adverts on online portals. There are also online places where graduates post their CVs and employers search. Or you engage the services of online recruiters like Indeed.

You could also tweet with appropriate hashtags or use appropriate facebook groups.

    Thanks, any particular portals?
    I think....

Crikey, must have been a bad case if it required hospitalisation:eek:

I wonder how these things were cured in the days before antibiotics.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
