There is one nationality of cleaners round here (maybe Romanian?) that dry the floor after cleaning by putting cloths under each foot and sliding around the floor!
That's my method too except I use a large towel or two separate tea towels. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Went house viewing with mum and dad when they were thinking of moving, can't remember if we went inside with them or if we had to stay outside though as I was pretty young. They almost bought one but discovered quite late on that the lovely end green that was said to have been attached to the house had been sold on separately and permission given for a house to be built!
Feel like throwing something tonight, ex's 10th wedding anniversary and my Facebook feed is full of platitudes to them (we still share many friends). The eve of the wedding day was the last time the boys stayed overnight with their father and since then have spent less than 24 hours total in his company. We made it! His loss.
Totally understand the wish to throw things, though. Nobody should marry a person who has children unless they are willing to accept, welcome, and grow to love the children. So many people don't realise this, though.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
She's not the issue, he is. He became bored of being a family man and having to be responsible/give up things for any offspring. It was one of the driving forces behind his going off and sleeping with my best friend, she appeared more exciting because she didn't have kids depending on her 24/7 as her ex had them on an equal basis. Basically, she was more footloose and fancy free than me and a majority child free life appealed to him.
The boys actually have a fairly good relationship with his wife, she is able to talk at their level, understand the stresses, strains and worries they may have (which was especially handy during exam times) and is more able to relate to them than he is.
He enjoys not having to worry about doing dad things apart from an hour a year and not even that now the boys are away at uni when he comes down.We made it! Possibly head whirring with things to do? Lists, lists and lists?
I know that when I'm on a roll with doing things, it's hard to stop. I can overfocus, (ADHD thing), and, while it's very productive, it does lead to the brain whirring like a bike wheel with the chain off, and late nights and less sleep.
AmDram night is always 'annoying', because although I get tired while I'm there, by the time I'm home at about 10.45pm, I'm wide awake again, and usually don't get to sleep until gone one, then wake up again at least once, usually twice, and all that mucks up my early rising preference, and messes up the whole of the next day.(I just lurve spiders!)

Who'd have thought that a vegetable yogurt could be so nice?
I've been buying these carrot and turmeric yogurts from my veg people. They are made with milk, carrots, carrot juice, lemon juice, turmeric and salt.
No added sugar at all, yet they don't taste completely savoury, iyswim. Carrots have a fair bit of natural sugars. The flavour is very subtle, which is nice, and the texture is very slightly grainy, presumably from the carrots, which I like, too.
Plus they come in glass jars, rather than plastic pots, of which I've kept a few, as they're a useful size, and of course are fully recyclable.
They also do a beetroot one, which I haven't tried, as beetroot is the one vegetable I don't like. I might try it though, just to see what it's like. I might be pleasantly surprised.
Thinking about it, in the past, before sugar became so cheap, veg like carrots and parsnips and beet were used to sweeten puddings and cakes. Maybe this current blitz on sugar content will lead to these veg being used more as natural sweeteners, and give people some of their five-a-day at the same time.
Because the effect is so subtle, though, it will still take a long time to wean people's palates away from the totally in-your-face, 'hit you on the head with a brick' sweetness of cane and beet sugar, I expect!(I just lurve spiders!)

Not sure why I was wide awake, but I stayed up .... I was going to sort out washing, but then the weather says rain, floods, storms, more rain... so no point as I can't dry it and don't want to live in a Chinese laundry for the next two days while it's draped over airers.
I am thinking about cutting the lawn, it's nearly time when that's "reasonable" to do .... so I'll see if it looks like I can get that cut and down the tip before it rains.
I've no way of telling when the rain will be here/if it is... as weather reports aren't accurate enough for that.
EDIT:
Well, that didn't work out well, weather site indicated rain by noon ... it is a reasonable time now to fire up a lawnmower, so I pulled on my wellies, got the shed key out ...stepped outside - and felt a definite spot of rain on my hand walking to the shed. It's possible "that was it" .... but rain is unpredictable.... so I decided not to chance it. It involves getting the lawnmower out and bags for the cuttings and opening the patio doors and plugging the mower in ...then mowing/emptying about 4x ... then rubbing down the mower and letting it dry out while I run the bags to the tip .. before returning the cleaned/dried mower and box to the shed. So I need a clear/dry weather window of 30-40 minutes.
And, actually, while I type this, I can definitely see more drops, it's definitely raining now. No doubt about it. That's rain.0 -
