I've thought that for months .... but it's one of those things that you only think to get round to when it's happening .... and then you CBA and think "I'll get round to that one day".

I might even have some batteries round here that fit .... somewhere.
    :)

It's not a biggie until I'm either stuck watching things for sale at 3am, or I fall off the sofa and it hurts.

At least you don't need step-ladders for it! :D:D

Very true! Top of the wardrobe? :D
But then, the steps might be up there, too! :rotfl:

I keep wanting to rearrange your life for you! But, I need to get my house tidied up first, so don't worry I won't be popping round unannounced.

Perhaps we should swap? You come here and tidy up my house, and I'll do likewise for you. Then, neither of us will be able to find anything.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Other than computers/printers/scanners connected via wired LAN and, should I choose, my mobile phone via WiFi I have nothing. Personally, I cannot see the point of "connected" fridges, etc - how hard is it to open the door and see what's inside?

My view is that most of these "connected devices" are really solutions desperately in search of a problem - and, due to poor design/impementation, they have certainly found problems albeit not those that the manufacturers had intended, e.g. unauthorised leaks of data or, worse, the ability for criminals to connect to them and use them (without the owner's permission or, even, knowledge) for their nefarious activities.

Being able to see the inside of your fridge when you are in the supermarket would be useful.

It is useful to be able to turn on the heating before you get home.

Taking this one stage further, there is some Amazon (I think) device that automatically reorders stuff when it sees you run low.

I can understand the anxiety about buying the right furniture. How about just getting some large cardboard boxes and stacking them up in some way? Cost = nothing. The maximum downside is just the nuisance of getting rid of them if they don't work for you.

No easier than checking the contents and making a list before going to the supermarket ;)

    That's what my timer's for ;)

Haven't they found a few issues with that? ISTR seeing that it was hearing stuff on the telly and ordering it :rotfl:

Tidying is an odd concept.... it can only truly be done by people with enough space and correct storage solutions.

I've got plenty of space and storage solutions, but I still rarely tidy up - on the occasions that I do, I then spend weeks trying to remember in what storage solution I put something that I didn't think I'd need soon but later found out that I did:rotfl:

I generally keep downstairs and the guest bedroom reasonably tidy anyway - my junk/work room not quite so much :rotfl:

I always know what's in my fridge .... everything.

I like to be present when the boiler comes on, in case there's "a problem" ... so I'm happy turning it on when I get home and feeling it warming up.

I decide what I buy and if I buy it again .... imagine if you'd decided to diet and give up the pies ... only to come home and find Amazon had re-ordered your six favourite pies :) I also use things in erratic ways, I might get through 350g of cheese in a week, then not touch it for a month and the next one get through in 1-2 months, food consumption's pretty seasonal really ... more cheese in the summer, say, as there are more packs of cheese sandwiches being made to take out of the house.

A lot of food only passes through my house once, or once in 2-3 years.

    Here's a daft NP question....

Shredded paper. I can apparently put small amounts of shredded paper into the paper/card/tin/plastics recycling bin. Our bins are "all that stuff, one bin".

But how? Do I just tip it in loose? Isn't that a nuisance if I've not put it into a box, or a big paper bag? Doesn't it cause a nuisance of "bits" when it's being sorted at the recycling centre?

So - how do NPs empty their paper shredders? Mine's full now .... and I have a small pile accumulating on top of it.
