Oh, sorry!
Hmm. I know it is just a matter of retrial and error.
I haven't found a Chinese that I like locally. There used to be one that did a cracking spicy beef thing, but that was years ago, and probably changed hands, because the last time I tried it, it was horrid.
Even Indians are very, very variable.
Do you like Thai?
I'll eat thai, but it's not something I'd choose as it's actually disappointing. I've had red curry and green curry before.
I might take a random drive out until I spot a takeaway that has a parking spot outside and it doesn't look grubby or busy
Trouble is .... I don't really fancy putting ANY effort into it at all....
I've no bread .... so can't even have toast....and if I don't go and buy something I'll end up eating a pack of crisps (that I'd rather save for now) .... or some cornflakes. And I don't fancy doing that either.
I'm going to bite the bullet and just hit the road..... back later moaning about my choice no doubt0 -
Tell you what, how's about just picking a Chinese or whatever at random, one you've not had before, ordering from it, and see what happens?
It might be a nice surprise!
Save you the hassle, too!
Edit oops! Probably too late!(I just lurve spiders!)

Even if just kept/used as a "spare pair round the house"He says that the amount he paid for them, he'd want to do more than just wear them around the house
They're only about a year old. if they can't be repaired, I do hope the optician's won't expect him to shell out for a new pair!

Where did they break?
If it was at the hinge, there's a good chance they could be repaired, I'd say.
If an arm has snapped in half, then a sticking plaster might be the only remedy.(I just lurve spiders!)

Just in front of where the metal arm joins the plastic "earpiece". Hopefully the frame will still be available and they can either put a new arm on, or fit the lenses into a new identical frame. They are really nice, dark blue. (Not as nice as my new ones, obviously)

I went out, but then changed my mind as I CBA, so did a U turn and headed for 4ldi thinking "Why pick a chinese at random, sit unspeaking with strangers until your order's ready, then drive back to be disappointed .... when you could instead, just see what 4ldi have got that you've not tried - because, after all, if you don't like what you buy you've still not lost out as you'd probably not enjoy the chinese that cost 5x more".
So I've got a pack of frozen/battered chicken strips (hot n spicy)... I bought some "indian inspired rice, 2 bags in the packet" and a random jar of sweet/sour sauce. Cost of those £1.35 + £0.99 +£0.65 = £2.99.
But then I thought I'd cook my own basmati so the indian rice got tossed in the freezer for some other random time.
I've used half the jar of s/s sauce, with an added spoon of balsamic vinegar as it smelt way too sweet.
I've put half the chicken bits in the oven and they take 15 minutes.
So, once the chicken's cooked I'll leave that loitering while I nuke the s/s sauce ... and while that's happening I'll serve up the rice.
If nothing else... this will have cost me 67p + 13p + 32p = £1.120 -
So, did you enjoy your tea Pastures?
We didn't have anything (well I had a slice of lemon drizzle cake) as DH fell asleep.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I had had a light lunch yesterday, and wasn't intending to have anything else, but all that talk of food........:D.......... so I made some pasta agli'olio with loads and loads of garlic!
Good job I'm not going anywhere/having visitors today!:D
It's funny how you can go for ages without eating a certain something, then suddenly feel you must have some. That's how I felt about having some garlic!
It's not exactly a craving, more that your body's telling you it needs a certain substance, perhaps. Not very scientific, and I know that research into cravings in expectant women hasn't revealed any specific deficiencies, but maybe it's all at a subclinical level, and is s a type of cascade of very minor deficiency combinations. Who knows?
Anyway, I enjoyed the pasta, and might have some more today! Then I'm in purdah for a couple of days until the allicin works it way through!(I just lurve spiders!)

I wish someone could scientifically explain my craving for crisps. Not just in pregnancy but any time. Now I'm either a piggy or there really is something addictive in them! DH has hidden his stash somewhere so I can't get to them.Spend less now, work less later.0
