    Safe journey!

    Thanks
Hope you're not going by train. According to the news this morning, it seems that loads of main lines are out of action.

No, by road. Hopefully the M40 will be clear by the time I get to Banbury - and, equally hopefully, there won't have been any more accidents on my route.
Anyway, if I were to go by train I wouldn't succeed anyway. We don't have a Sunday service out here - yet, there's supposed to be one starting next year but how good it'll be remains to be seen.

    Safe journey Chris.

All presents are wrapped, all food purchased, all children returned home....just one more shift at work (oh and the making of approx 100 mince pies) and then it is time to celebrate.

18 people to buy for (including the boys) = £160 total spend for presents.
My contribution to food - mince pies, home made stuffing, Boxing day buffet and Christmas dinner items = around £40

No alcohol purchased - beggers can bring their own.

No loans or money borrowed, just careful budgeting and buying over the last year.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yes, do tell us what you have been doing today. :)

I didn't do much on my birthday, We walked over to the supermarket to buy some fresh bread. That's quite a nice walk through the woods.

Had some birthday cake, DW and I.

    We enjoyed Pyxis's musical mice.

Spoke to the family over the phone/Facetime. The one who is furthest away sent a video of himself and his partner by the sea, in the warmth.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Sometimes a restful birthday is just what you need. Sounds idyllic GDB.

Do you spend a lot of time in Norfolk? I am considering popping up for a bit once the weather is better. I would like to do some research into my family tree, who are spread over a relatively small area between Brancaster Staithe and the numerous Burnhams (Market, Westgate, Norton, Sutton and Ulph) as well as North Creake. I wondered if you'd explored these little towns and villages and if so, where is nice to base yourself. Thanks!

    Safe journey Chris!

We always use Banbury as a petrol stop on our travels (big Mr Ts just off the motorway).

And what did Siri say? :D

I'm off Siri. He's no fun any more. He either refers me to google or says he can't help me with that. :(

My sister-in-law asked "Alexa, who is my favourite son-in-law?"

Alexa replied "I don't know - but I'm sure you have very good taste." :D

I expect you're on the road by now Chris, but if not, safe journey and Happy Christmas :xmassign:

Sue That sounds brilliant budgeting! :T

Glad you enjoyed your birthday GDB :)

    Very very remiss! :(:( :(:(

For some reason I thought Hanukkah was at the same time as Christmas this year, but of course that was last year, wasn't it?

Anyway, just discovered it ended d on 20th.
And I haven't wished anyone a happy one.
    :(:(:(

I shall have to unpack the sackcloth and ashes. :(

Anyway, I hope that those of you who celebrated had a good one!

Seasons greetings to one and all NPers :)

I hope it all passes off without too much stress.

A small anecdote...one which I think conveys the transition of a young person from scholar to student ;)

DD sees the bottle of Absinthe I have brought in to the house.

"Oh no." She exclaims. "That stuff is horrible, and lethal."

"I was going to suggest you take it back with you, but if it's horrible..."

    "Can I ?!!!!! Fantastic."

And there we have it. The student will make a rational assessment, until it involves seriously strong alcohol :D

Have a good Christmas, nice people :)

I too won't be on for the next few days as I'm spending it with family. I'm back at work on Wednesday as it's best to start now on what's going to be a hectic January than suffer for the whole of the month as the extra 60 hours over 5 days makes all the difference.

Stay safe and I hope everyone enjoys it!
