It was an X-trail, but it went back to the hire company some time ago and I'm unlikely to have it back again.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
A way around it? Travel Dave has loads of different ones, but I have no idea whether they work.

It's not one of those, and is a lot more convenient.💙💛 💔0 -

It's company policy not to deal with the Renault group (although I would drive a Dacia as I quite like the idea of a top spec car for less than basic Fiesta money), so sadly I can't help you there.💙💛 💔0 -
Not if you pick up from departures level...
Ooooh! Sneaky Michaels!
By the way, a short time ago we had a couple of new NPs on the thread, but they seem to have disappeared, never to return.
Ok. Who done it? Who put them off?(I just lurve spiders!)

Perhaps they are lurking Pyxis.
I had the great urge then too look up the etymology of lurk. Apparently lurking dates back to the 13th century (who knew they had the internet then?)
From either Swedish lurks (to sneak away) or possibly middle Dutch lour (to lie in wait).
If it's the former, maybe they come to share the hygge. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Ooh the hygge! Me loves the hygge!
Do you know, I hate the term lurker for someone who reads but doesn't post.
It sounds sort of sleazy. And sinister.
So, on another thread, I coined the term 'hummingbird' to replace a 'lurker', because they hover, without posting.
I thought the idea of a beautiful hummingbird, hovering over a thread without actively participating, was a lot nicer than the evil-sounding 'lurker'.(I just lurve spiders!)

My Dacia Duster is brilliant - top spec model (because the next one down plus the options I wanted but are standard in the top one would have cost more) 4x4 and around 5 grand less than any of the credible (IMO) competition, considerably more less than the Chelsea Tractors that only go off road when they bump up, the kerb at Tesco or M&S :rotfl:
It suits the very outer Outer Herts roads perfectly, high enough to see over walls and hedges and get an earlier sight of oncoming cars at the summits of hills, suspension that absorbs most of the potholes but without being soft and reasonable fuel economy. The 4x2 would give better economy because the gears are all higher so it has a better cruising gear, but I wanted the 4x4 for the eventuality that we get really bad weather, like snow and ice.0 -

My guess would depend on where in the country it first started being widely used - if in the North then I'd guess almost certainly the Swedish (Viking) root, if in the South then more likely the Dutch.0
