That's good news Sue, must be a load off your mind. How are you feeling now?

Still washed out but not too bad, certainly better than I felt 2 weeks ago anyway!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Went to see the new film of Murder on the Orient Express last night.
Enjoyed it, but don't expect Poirot to be true to Agatha Christie's descriptions!

I doubt I'll go and see it.
Just seeing the picture of how they're portraying Poirot has put me off.

I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan, ever since I started reading Miss Marple and Poirot at a tender age.

Have seen pretty much all the incarnations of both, and for me, and I believe for the Christie family, the epitome of each is Joan Hickson and David Suchet.

Everyone else is a parody. And that's quite apart from the fact that most of the other productions have messed about with the stories so very, very much.

I went to a funeral on Wednesday of an old family friend. He was 95, and I've known him since I was a schoolboy. He and his wife used to invite our whole family for the Passover celebration. They did that every year for 10-20 years. He was a lovely man, who always had such a positive outlook on life and enjoyed meeting people. He'd have loved his funeral.

Sadly, the only person there from his generation was his wife. He'd either outlived his contemporaries or they were too ill to attend.

The thing is, with the Internet ... anybody can write their story. It might be on a local news website forum, or you might publish a PDF.... but there might be hidden stuff nobody else would spot.

e.g. If your ancestor was called Bertie Bassett, you might find the official War Diary just said "3 of our men broke a leg". Meanwhile, 60 years on, the BBC might have interviewed one of those three and he might have said "My mate Bert, we called him Mr Liquorice.... used to play the banjo in the evenings when we were in the Hospital". And, you might wonder "is that him?" ... and another forum might have somebody saying "My granddad's diary says he broke his leg that date and he was with Bertie Bissit, the musician, and they were crossing the road when the trench blew and Bissit landed in a tree" ... and you think "Hang on, I think I'm onto something here" Then you'd want to see the original writing, to see if Bassett looked like Bissit. :) Or maybe the bloke was a bit thick/illiterate but trying.... or it could be a typo from the grandchild who didn't think it "that important" when they typed it wrong in a rush....

It's all just a game of fishing the peas out of the soup .....

Anyone else find the "try again" football advert extremely annoying? It would be much better if they had bothered to put in the third try. I find it extremely irritating. I am getting to the point where I will have to turn the sound off when it comes on. I used to do this with a Lloyds Bank advert which had a song which was accompanied by piano and the singer sang out of tune with the piano. That was also extremely annoying because you could hear from the piano which notes the singer should have been singing but didn't quite get.
