    Thanks everyone.
Yesterday was day 1 of rest and recuperation. Apart from a bit of delivering and picking up offspring, I stayed in bed all day, starting on a pile of detective novels from Aged P's house. In the early evening when I delivered DD to former next door friends, I went in and spent some time with one of the adult friends while she was with the teenagers. Plan for today is more of the same, interspersed with some washing/dishwasher. I think if I put a load in and then lie down with a book/laptop until it's done, it shouldn't be too arduous. DS and DD can help by cooking. I find cooking more tiring than laundry.

Am feeling quite proud of myself for recognising what's happening and making constructive plan. :)

Oh, and ivyleaf, I haven't been to work for two weeks - benefit of working in a boarding school is we get a long half term in the autumn. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I like my electric screwdriver. I know exactly where it is.
Sadly, I have no idea where its charger is, so I can't use it until I either find the charger or make the effort to work out what sort of charger it needs and see if I have something compatible.

I have overdone things with my dad's move. My own home is in chaos - DS and DD have done more tidying than I hoped for, but I am still desperately behind with washing etc. I need to get Helpful Builder in to sort out some problems, but need to get the chaos under control first. And I am back to feeling blank and numb and too mentally tired to take any interest in anything, as I was in the depths of my burnout. I am trying to take things easy and hope I can recover the progress I'd previously been making.

Take a few days out, relax, recharge, have some fun. Washing etc can wait for a few days whilst you get your mojo back a little.

As for the backlog, don't think of it as a whole, break it down into chunks, so instead of stressing about getting a whole job done, plan for doing a part of it and treat each part as a success and not a failure. It may appear that this approach will take longer but it also comes with more success as it is less overwhelming than trying to do everything at once.

If you are worried about clean clothes, budget Asda are good for the important things with packs of underwear available cheaply (I know it's not exactly MSE) to cover the most important things.

Remember health comes first, not housework.

Edit - The little bits approach was how I managed to clear my house (James is a hoarder and I had issues with it too), it always overwhelmed me when I looked at a room and I pretty much failed before I had started. What worked for me was making a decision to clear say a corner of the room rather than the whole room. It was less daunting, saved some of my ever diminishing energy and in the end, led to a cleared space rather than the started it, got overwhelmed with it and given up room we would get before.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

What do the pupils do who can’t go home for the two weeks?

Some schools have a scheme where the pupils have a guardian and takes them in holidays. That's usually paid, a bit like being a host family to foreign students.

I asked them whether all the components are new and they said

We use new old stock for the components in this system which are fully tested and burned in for 24 hours before shipping after the build process is complete.

We use a very good 500watt sum vision PSU and all motherboards are branded and covered by a full years warranty so you can buy with confidence.

What is 'new old stock'? Is it different from old new stock?

Well, technically, 'new old stock' is old stock that has just recently come into the shop.

And 'old new stock' is new stock that has been in the shop a while.

    Got it? :D

Of course, then there's old old stock, and new new stock................

You can swop old stock at the old stock exchange, and swop new stock at the new stock exchange.

I wouldn't use old stock to make soup. Just new stock. Middle-age stock is ok, though.

Old stocks are good in the garden too.

And if you are into murdering wildlife, your gun might need a new stock at some stage.
