I'm going to London on Saturday to go to a concert in the evening. Thinking of spending the day (afternoon at least) at the V&A - if so I might well go here for lunch or dinner. Thanks Doozergirl!
Lovely! All perfectly spaced, geographically. I love the V&A. I also had a lovely lunch for one at Rocca before going there earlier in the year. Pasta, cheeseboard and a glass of red
Do tag onto one of the free one hour tours that run through the day.
I've just booked for an adult 'after school club' at the NHM, complete with silent disco. Too excited! Google itEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Silent disco! :rotfl:
That must be really funny to watch!
(Ok if you're doing it, though!)
Strange place to have one, at the NHM?
Unless it's a historical music silent disco?Or with the blue whale as the vocalist?

.... I'm the only one that ever picks anything up off them and actually takes it downstairs. The other two occupants of my house seem to believe there are "taking stuff downstairs" fairies or something.
Or not.
Really doesn't matter. It can stay there for days if you WISH it to...0 -

Lydia I think the other two occupants of this house think there is a taking things upstairs fairy!
DS in particular is a devil for leaving things at one side of a step and then stopping noticing it.

I seem to remember someone, somewhere suggesting that anything left in the way for more than half a day gets put into a box by the door, and if still there after another half day, gets put in the bin!
That should shift a load of stuff sharpish!(I just lurve spiders!)

Doesn't work: 'If you throw my school shoes away mum will just buy me some new ones'I think....0 -
Thanks. I have two of the quarter circle corner ones myself - do you have a quarter circle one or one of the quarter-octogon ones or something else? One of mine is about the same colour as this one. I got that one in a second hand shop a few years ago. My other one is the same shape and nearly, but not quite, the same height, and I think it was originally metallic gold colour but is now a bit faded. I had that one in my bedroom as a child and retrieved from my parents' house when I got the other one. They go next to each other to make a semicircle in my house, so they're on a straight wall rather than in a corner.
I don't think he cares about the value, and he's not trying to modernise it to make it look up to date; he just wants it to look less grotty. I thought of trying to spray his in the same colour as the one I linked to in the previous paragraph. His does look pretty dreadful at present - much worse than either of mine, which are both quite presentable. I'll post a pic "elsewhere" shortly.
Edit: PostImages site doesn't seem to be working. Will try again later.
Edit again: here's a Lloyd Loom chair that really shouldn't have been repainted like that! :rotfl:
These are not priceless, or even particularly rare. So, if the owner wants it painted, I would not have any qualms. I did google Paint Lloyd loom, and the suggestion seem to be to clean it up and spray-paint, which is what I thought I would do before I googled. I painted some basket ware with a brush, and that was not a great result. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Did the usual....
Cut the grass, very slowly, taking breaks .. but finally finished. Looked around "that'll do"....
Packed it all up, drove to the tip with the cuttings, came back, put the lawnmower away .... turned round and .... missed a bit.
*sighs*
Oh well - I'm grateful I "bothered" to do it today; I doubt there'll be another day before April when it's dry enough.0
