Have any of the NPs paid a visit to Bletchley Park?
Yes, but not for several years. I thought it was absolutely amazing, though I think that the exhibits are even better now. Seeing an Enigma machine and Colossus was amazing. As it was a few years back, we were also shown round by one of the original code breakers.

Used to visit Bletchley many times. It (and Newport Pagnell) were the only part of Milton Keynes that had shops and pubs and things to do. I was at a university a couple of miles away. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

OH particularly enjoyed it as they had some of the equipment he'd worked with in the army.

Can't remember who it was (*) but someone famous said that he'd read the Deaths column each morning - and if he wasn't in it he'd get up
(*) could have been Mark Twain, Noel Coward or Oscar Wilde, it's the sort of thing any of them might well have said, or it could have been someone else.0 -

I started digging around, as you do ... building a tree.
I was surprised to discover her dad had died aged just 56 (1933-1990) ... and her grandfather and great-grandfather didn't get much further either!
She lived with her dad/sister, a single parent family; she had almost daily contact with her mother, who had a new bf... and then married him .... and then (I think) married for a 3rd time.
Her dad was lovely, worked hard and cooked them lovely meals. He worked at the local factory and rode a bike.
I found it odd at the time, somebody having parents who had split up - and her being in a single parent family; it wasn't so common/popular back then! Her mum also worked in the village, which is how come she could see her so often.0 -

What did you think Pyxis?I went last Oct. I thought it was brilliant. Really interesting and we'll thought through.
I've got mixed feelings.
There were several things that I thought weren't thought through very well, as a result of which, I found some things very frustrating.
However, I understand that it isn't publicly-funded as such, so perhaps I shouldn't say anything.
The ticket allows you free entry for a year, though, so it would be a good idea to go back another time.
All I would say is, if anyone does go, allow bags and bags of time, and whatever you do, get yourself booked onto a guided tour and do that first.(I just lurve spiders!)
