Zenith collections letter to my old address.

Hi there, I have tried to read the newbie notes but I can't find something relevant.
I have been passed a letter by the new tenants of my old address. Its from Zenith demanding money for a parking charge notice. It says despite previous attempts I have not paid. I have never received any other letters as i moved some time ago. The new tenants only started saving mail this week as i went round and told them I was expecting my pension paperwork which was the only thing i hadn't updated. I notified the DVLA when we moved. The charge is apparently for staying over the agreed time in a car park in Sheffield. I have the date in December which does coincide with a visit to my family. I can recall using the carpark the letter refers to however it was at night when all the shops were closed and we went to the cinema nearby. I do not remember seeing any signs and I wasnt given a ticket at the time so I never thought anything of it. I do not know what to do as i dont have any other details and the letter states not to contact the company (G34) as they are now responsible for the debt which is £110!
Please help

G24 I suspect - a joke of a firm, not one to pay. There is no debt, and debt collectors are not ones to pay, either!I notified the DVLA when we moved.
Re the change of address, here's the same question already answered today:

Do not get into silly correspondence (just one email to change the address). Do not phone DRPlus or G24, and please be aware that Zenith are 'Debt Recovery Plus', as the NEWBIES FAQS thread post #4 tells you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was told that Zenith Collections were a taboo debt collector with the parking cowboys because they constantly failed to collect as people were ignoring them.
The advice remains the same about Zenith Collections
IGNORE ZENITH ... DO NOT PAY ZENITH .. DO NOT TALK TO ZENITH
G24 are the only people who can proceed so just wait to see
what they do and come back here
Zenith Collections indeed :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for your replies.
Yes I changed both V5 and my license so they could get my current address. I'm confused by the email comment. Should I actually update my address eith Zenith? I'd rather not get harassed. Am i within my rights to contact G24 and appeal the charge. I checked with my brother who parked his car at the same time and he hasnt received anything.0 -

It is to avoid a default CCJ in a few years, if G24 sneakily try some court claims to old addresses, like these scum firms do:

Luckily, G24 don't sue anyone - but you can never say never, so you MUST see all letters.I'd rather not get harassed.Am i within my rights to contact G24 and appeal the charge.

Shouldn't it be G24 I update my address with then? What do I put in the email without acknowledging I'm liable? Sorry if I'm being dumb but I've never had any tickets before and I'm panicking.0

just send G24 the black text IPC template from the NEWBIES sticky thread
add a note that
the address for service to the keeper from now on is
mr OR mrs OR ms blah blah
50 SHADES OF GREY STREET
ANYTOWN
c12 d34
also add the pcn reference if you have it, and/or the VRM details and the date

The link I gave you in post #2, tells you what to write! It takes you to another thread where I wrote one before... sometimes it feels like we have to say everything twice.
When you clicked on that link and found my post to that person, which included the words 'Here's one written before:' you surely then clicked on that link and found the one I'd written before? We can't keep repeating the same old stuff.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I agree CM, I agree. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
