Any credit card issuers who are good for accepting very bad credit?

This is all I need to reply to. You're right, building a good credit history takes time and patience. Does OP look like he/she is looking like someone who is patient? In the small snippet of information we have on he/she, my advice to this person would be not to get into any debt yet. I get the feeling that ''my mate Johnny has got a car and 2 phones and I want that too!'' is why OP 'needs' a credit card. I see no reference to wanting to build up a credit file to help later in life, I see no I'll set up a direct debit and pay off in full every month. I do see comments like ''Cashcardplus I'm skeptical about and I want to recieve actual credit'', and I do see ''Just want to find an issuer who will accept me. If I have to pay higher interest then so be it'', and I do see ''I've seen my friends scores on there too so it seems accurate. He has a car, job and pays two phone bills''

I'm not here to change your opinion. My opinion on this person (in the short piece of information we both have), is that debt is not the answer at the moment.

And I see JUDGEMENT JUDGEMENT JUDGEMENT. I mentioned my friend only in reference to the accuracy of my credit score and nothing else. I don't want a car or phone I don't care about all of that. I need the money and that's all.

As for patience. You have nothing to believe hardly anything you've said. I have TOO MUCH patience. And I've looked all my options and there's a job or credit. I can't work so I need credit. I spend all day everyday trying to think of how've to better my life and move foreword. My options are more limited than most okay.

Although you all may be entitled to it, my post was not to ask for personal opinions in regard to my current situation. And I have only responded with information with the view it would help narrow down issuers who might accept me. So thanks all but I simply wondered if you know of any who truly accept bad credit so I could look into it.

Ignore your credit scores, and those of your friends. What appears on your three credit files?

One of the very few replies that are relevant to my query.

No where have I asked personal advice.

No you don't, you need a budget. And anyway, with no salary you're highly unlikely to get any credit.

I'm 19, not a student, I've never personally had any direct debits and I've made a fair amount of credit searchs before.

My credit score is between non existent and bad. I don't even get any analysis from the big credit report companies such as experien - they say there's lack of information. On clearscore I have about 187 and I've found them to be quite good. I've seen my friends scores on there too so it seems accurate. He has a car, job and pays two phone bills (all going on 2 or 3 years now) Same with when checking eligibility for cards, seems accurate - I have a low chance, looks like he's accepted for pretty much everything.

I've read that there's more chance of getting a credit card than a loan.

Companies in the marbles group say I have a fairly good chance then they reject me. Not even considering, no phone call to go through everything or anything. Yet they have the cheek to keep sending me their stupid circular letters saying good news you can now apply!

Cashcardplus I'm skeptical about and I want to recieve actual credit even if it's the smallest amount. Not just be paying to have a cash card which is not much different from a free bank debit card.

Open to any company at this point as long ad it makes sense

    Hi I am 20 and I am a student.

I got my first credit card when I was 18 because I wanted to improve my credit score so I can get a better montage rate when I am older. Two years on I have gotten a couple of American Express cards and I have become fascinated with earning points on purchases. Currently my girlfriend and I are gathering points for flights to america.

I have some advice for you...

DONT get a credit card to use as 'credit'. Make sure you can pay off your balance each month. If you don't you'll pay massive amounts of interest. Especially if you're just starting out. I think of it this way... £100 worth of clothes could cost you £150 if you don't pay it off at the end of the month!

If you are not already get yourself registered to vote. Even if you don't want to vote it allows credit card companies to verify your ID, making you more "searchable'.

Start off with a easy card to get. When I was 18 I got an Aqua card. It had a very small limit of £200 when I first got it but it had gone up to £800 by the end of the year.

Once you prove your worth and trustworthiness you can start getting benefits from spending on credit. I have an Amex Gold card which I earn points on all my purchases. I also have a Nationwide Visa which I get 0.5% back on purchases.

If you have any more questions. Give me a shout!

As already stated above lots of card issuers will accept bad credit, but your limits will be very low and your rates very high. I started with a Barclaycard initial, £500, 34.9%. Aqua £200 34.9%, Cap one, £200 34.9%, Vanquais £150 49.9%. Never go near the limit and clear in full monthly. Two years on i have TSB Platinum, 0% for 2 years, MBNA all rounder, 0% for 2 years and a Barclaycard rewards (also offered platinum). I still cant get the very best cards but good behaviour will get you there.

You might be very lucky to get a credit card with no job.

Your friend has a credit card as he most likely stated on the application he earns x amount to repay the monthly bill.

How do you intend to pay off said credit (if accepted) with no income?

Why are you so desperate at 19 y/o for a credit card to be able to spend?

My sincerest apologies for offering even the slightest bit of guidance.

I didn't realise you already know everything.

    Good luck.

For reference I'm not employed. I think im being pretty sensible about he situation, if I can obtain a credit card I intend to pay off in full every month or early if possible.

If it's not Harming my credit history or my purse anymore I don't really care. Building my credit history is not a goal of mine. I simply need the money. It's short term so with any. Luck I won't need to rely on credit again so credit history won't matter. In fact if I can get the money I need I definitely won't need to rely on this method again. It's more important to get the money abs keep up with payments so I don't have debt. Some companies allow you to pay off your credit as soon as and I don't want to be stuck with them so I definitely consider the option.

I don't want a mortgage, don't want a phone in contract etc i wont explain my life plans but they don't include Having a credit history so it's useless to my in the long run. I hate the commitment. If I get a credit card it's get in, get out asap.

Do you realise that's not how credit cards work? It sounds to me that you want a loan, not a credit card. You certainly wouldn't be withdrawing cash from a credit card if you need money.

It's not that im seeking debt. And I want to borrow money short term. I always search the shortest period (one month) where possible otherwise no more than a year. I don't care much about my credit score, it's just that this file is stoping me from doing basic things. I think the main issue is to do with limited history. Most people my age have a phone plan or job that gets them some history. I don't know how I missed out.

OK so you're on benefits and you want money in the short term(?) for what exactly?

You've said you're not interested in building your credit history so please explain.

If everything in your life is paid for, and you are not working, what is this extra short term money to be used for? That's not being nosy, that's a genuine question because from what you've written, you aren't making much sense.

Also, given that you're unemployed/on benefits, I don't see how your plan to obtain a loan / credit card is even going to work - vast majority of lenders will outright reject on that basis alone and if by the slimmest of chances you manage to get a credit card, your limit is only going to be a couple of hundred quid at best.

    Where's the logic?

No, you're right. My bad. I'd recommend taking as much credit out as possible, not paying it back and look to go bankrupt. It'll help in the long term.

    Good luck.
