Yes I can afford payment of 560
A month quite easily and have done without fail for god knows how long. As I have stated in my post I was unaware there was an issue as a good portion of my money goes into savings and other investments.0 -
Thank you for your reply, you seem to be the only person here that sort of understands my position. Yes I am
Lucky enough to have a good income, something I choose to be able to provide a good life for my wife and kids, I have always been careful with money and have chose to invest what I can and enjoy what I can. If anyone has an issue with this salary then I would invite them to work 84 hours a week for 8 months straight without any time at home. So until you walk a mile in another mans shoes then they can do one!! i left the job of paying my bills to my wife and she had attempted to contact vw to explain situation being a few days late and they would not speak to her even with power of attorney over my affairs!0 -
The car was bought for my wife and I was advised to take it on finance rather than pay up front as it offered a better deal according to the salesman as I could trade in for new car every 3 years or so, anyway once bitten twice shy I won't be taking finance for anything again now0

Thank you for stating the obvious0

Nub, I've got no idea what you are talking about red flags, I'm sorry I am a newbie to forums and if asking for advice is too much then I wonder what the point in these sites are? Until you get your facts straight I suggest you go elsewhere0

The account has always been paid every month but as I am paid in foreign currency it sometimes takes a while to exchange before it appears in my bank. The 17k I have is in a savings account and as I was not aware there was an issue I didn't see the need to pay out of this money. There reasoning is that they could never get hold of me to tell me there was an issue, even though my fiance has power of attorney they wouldn't speak to her when she tried to explain payment may be a few days late. The account is not in arrears nor has it ever been, yes payment may have been a few days late but never to excess.
You do understand what being in arrears means don't you? That means the account hasn't been paid. It doesn't matter if you paid 1 day or 7 days late - the account is still is arrears.
If you had £17k in savings, why didn't you move some of it over, say £1k in your main bank account to cover incidences like this, especially since you knew you would have no access to your banking whilst you were away?
What happened to your usual monthly salary then? So you get paid £15k into your bank account regardless of what date, given that the VW finance is only £560, what happens to the rest of the £14.4k? Do you have a standing order or something to automatically move it into your savings account? I ask because given you have such a high salary, surely you would have some amount of money left in it after you'd been paid each month?
If you've had this contract since Feb 2016, when did you start missing the monthly repayments? (I mean when did you start paying a few days late after money hit your account)For your info, this is not a troll thread and the account is not in arrears, it now seems vw finance have messed up and got the dates wrong, the payment was made within the time limit specified on the default notice and they have not updated account to show such
