Council putting double yellow lines outside my house

Hi, Hoping for a bit of advice and help as to what to do/how to approach things. So last year I bought a new build house (semi detached terrace, with no drive) on a new road (it wasn't previously there). At the start of the year we received a letter from the council saying that our road will be closed for 3 months of works…

believe me they where - my driver was an ex police inspector and not to impressed as in his eyes he would be causing multiple issues on the main road and only 1 in the disabled spot- his choice get a ticket in the disable spot or cause chaos for the whole town
