  • Why don't you retrain as a barrister then, and stick up for all the little people?

It will never work , money makes the world go round , good barristers. are earning several million a year.Good barristers are equivalent of top professional footballers , once you become known your price rockets .

To be a great barrister , you need to be a psychologist first ,then a boxer and finally a barrister.Top barristers need all three skills .

One of main the reasons why Sir Alec Ferguson was successful ,he was a psychologist .
Most of these car accident barristers are not up to a professional performance in court , one could say they are amauters.

    Highest Paid Barristers
Aaronson QC and John Gardiner QC - are thought to have earned £3 million each over the past year.
    HOWARD GODFREY QC £ 928,000
    ROY HEADLAM £ 787,000
    CHARLES SALMON QC £ 762,000

I am sixty and too old to be as sharp as these youngsters. My main interest is trading financial markets , for which our ancestral brain has a handicap , and psychology.

    So how about an appeal?
Seems to be on the cards given the factors you present to validate your side of things.

Here's a clue... The barristers doing onesy-twosy minor insurance claims are nearer to your local Saturday League.

So if you're an expert in the psychological and mental traits which mark out a good barrister, when you met yours and he didn't display them, why didn't you knock him back and demand one that scored higher in your expert psychological profiling?
  • Why were barristers involved for a minor accident? Couldn't you have represented yourself or are you obliged to use the insurers solicitors/barristers? I don't see why it wasn't dealt with through small claims?

I am not allowed to do anything ,in fact I am not allowed even to respond to the judge ,barrister does all the talking , unless I am asked.I was even.Once the judge had bitten his head off once , he froze in court in the next important response.Once bitten twice shy.

The first thing he said was to me "there was a 50/50 chance it may go against me" , immediately I sensed I had a loser on my side with loser's personality.Nice research on google for losers versus winners. I could immediately sense he was immature , about the impending emotional act in court by the defendant , according to their witness statement .

I could read from my solicitor's presentation , the newly qualified knew very little about the "judge's state of mind " and how to present the case. Her own learned experience was to present the case , as learnt in law school .....stick to negligence ,damage and result ...........just plain law school stuff without adding any psyche to the case.

We are obliged to use their barristers + solicitors .It was held in small claims in county court.

    I think I am correct about it .Willesden county court , claim £3,000 + +interest ++ costs.

So I'll ask again: if you're such an expert in psychology, why did you not choose to represent yourself and pursue the claim?

    You *think* you're correct?

I'm pretty sure if I'd been to court I'd remember all the details beyond any doubt.
