I wasn't being sarcastic, the answers to all the questions asked in this thread are easily available via Google.

However, only you can decide which service(s) are best for your needs and finances.

Earlier you said that you have Netflix yourself?

I don't find it very user friendly & I rarely use it.
    I thought maybe I hadn't noticed it.

I was looking at the now tv smart boxes, it says they pause & rewind.

Do they record & series link too?

How do they connect the the incoming signal? What would I need to get or modify?

I really would like something with the simplicity of sky (the old sky, not sky q, I don't like that so much).

Is there anywhere I can go to try these boxes & see how they operate?

You don't find Netflix user friendly, I find it easy to use, it's all broken into different genres, I'm biased as I quite like Netflix.

No Now TV is just pause and rewind, no recording can be done.

It's an demand box eg you can watch a series when 3 episodes have been played.

I can't comment on the simplicity of sky.

Do you not know anyone with a Now TV box that you could have a go on ?

Maybe Curry's will have 1 setup so you could check it out.

Maybe Richer Sounds too, Richer Sounds is a chain of stores, maybe 1 is near you but I suspect Curry's might be a better shot.

Netflix, I suspose what I really mean is I have sky, so I only use Netflix for what I got it for, the miniseries Reign & the Crown.
So I don't root about it much.

I suspose it wouldn't matter if the Now Tv box didn't record if I was watching them on demand after the event - same thing, thank you.

I don't think I do, I might post it on Facebook & ask.
There is a currys about 8 miles away & a richer sounds about the same in the other direction. I didn't know currys sold them, I thought it was all Argos (no display) & online - thank you.

Before traveling to a Richer Sounds give your local store a call and ask, its a long shot.

What about looking on Youtube, might be some videos of Now TV being used. Theres a video by The Tech Guru on titled How to setup Now TV, he goes through some of the screens.

You could buy 1 from Amazon, get it setup, try it out and if you dont like it send it back, just send it back within the 30 days or whatever it is on Amazon.

Various bricks and mortar stores sell the Now TV boxes, Tesco, Sainsburys, I bet John Lewis do (could be another option for you, might have 1 setup, maybe Morrisons sell them too, Asda is another.

I've found a sky man who will swap the lnb for £60.
That takes care of the freesat box.

How would a now to box connect, I couldn't work that out? As I won't have an ariel.

I called sky tonight to check the cooling off period, it's 31 days. I need to buy a freesat box now & book the satellite man. They were very pleasant on the phone today - unlike last week.

But last week the only way I could get my full £20 back was to leave, so I didn't bite when she asked if I could be pursuaded to stay. I didn't want to leave last week, the person I spoke too forced me to get the refund.
I was actually a bit gutted all week about it, as I love sky's simplicity.
    But what's done is done.
