I bought myself an MP3 player for my birthday, just a cheap(ish) one from Argos. I dont have a clue about them and wondered if anyone had any good tips/advice for me on using it. Is there any websites that are decent for free tracks to download (dont want to have to pay to put them on it)

thanks

What kind of tracks? There's plaes you can get free classical music and I think there are some sites where unsigned artists put up their music depending on the genre you're into.

79p for just one track? ah well guess I could use some of my birthday money to put some tracks on it

yeah I was a student at preston from 99-02, was great, really enjoyed it

have been down a few times since and things have altered alot, more uni buildings, more student accomodation, those big tower blocks as you go into preston from near wickes have gone (actually a few years ago now). Everythings altered!

  • Why not convert your existing CD collection to .wma format? Windows media player on your computer can do that for you. Then you have all the music that you like. Once converted, plug the MP3 player into your PC and use Windows Explorer to drag the tracks onto your MP3 player

Spooky, I was born in Preston. If you want a lot of songs there are subscription sites such as wippet where you can download as much as you want (within their subscription database) and keep the songs when you cancel, there are others (can't remember them at the moment) where there's a wider range but you don't keep the songs if you cancel the subscription. Personally for my own use I find it cheaper to buy the CDs and rip them (not to mention you have a physical backup and much higher quality).
