Mum lent me some money for 3 days - Get phone call from HA threatning police?

If you withdrew the money from her bank account, make sure you pay it back into her bank account, that way it can clearly be seen on a statement later.
Make sure you pay it back by Saturday at the latest, and NEVER borrow from her again.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

It's not that I don't think they are friendly - Its more - if a week like this ever happens again it feels like I will have to magic money out of nowhere - and I don't see how thats possible haha.
The question is, why haven't you budgeted for 'a week like this' happening again?
Do you work? You really need to post over on DFW otherwise you'll find yourself in this situation again and this time won't have your mum to fall back on for a temporary loan and may find yourself deeper and deeper in a debt trap to pay back whoever lends you money.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Because usually I am not this bad with money - I had a lot of bills to pay out this week all at once - and no I am on benifets.
And I will join that forum - any help with money is better than nothing.

The HA person is most likely a bit concerned that your Mum doesnt have the mental capacity to be able to make these decisions on her own and is simply looking out for her wellbeing ..
Good on them i say0 -
I do realise now it was maybe a bad idea to ask my mum for it - but I will be rectifying it asap.

How were these bills different from any normal week's worth of bills?
What was the cause of the emergency of needing to borrow the £60?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. That's why the DFW boards are so good. It'll help you find ways to make sure you're not in a position where £60 is enough to throw you into a tailspin.
Financial management, from those on benefits to millionaires is a skill worth having and learning from the community here is vital in my view, not just you but for many of those who struggle to know where their money goes at the end of the month.

Mental illness of a friend / relative is a tough one ; ask any of my friends / relatives.
There is often no good answer - if you are in real difficulty but don't ask for help, and they find out, they'll accuse you of something different. "If only you'd asked ! You think I'm some kind of monster that I would see you suffer !"
Just as bad being on the giving end ; it is impossible to be reliable, without being taken for granted.
The only answer, as I think others suggest, is to have a reserve of money to hand. The extra idea is to "virtually" borrow it when needed, and pay it back ; so while it is missing from that reserve, you ( alone ) have the heartache of knowing it must be paid back soon. Then you can borrow it as often as you like.0 -
OP I don't understand what the hell this has to do with the HA? I could understand a CMH worker talking to you about it but a HA lackey?
And no the police will not be in the least bit interested its a civil not criminal matter.
Pay her back soonest and for the future put a tenner a week away to cover events like this.0
