Nope no option to move to SD (though it must be somewhere as I've seen it in the distant past !
I am looking at Application info now and not there....0 -
It's probably best to google the question for your particular phone and OS. In mine (Samsung S7 with nougat) I go to the application list, click on the application, click on storage.
For ones that can be moved at the top of this spage under the app name it says "Storage used" and under that there is a "change" button. But there really aren't many that have that option.
Managing the apps on SD storage was far easier on my old HTC.0 -
thanks to all.
I downloaded an app. called App Mgr III. This enabled me to move (some) stuff - AOL, Messanger etc, to SD card. Has freed up some space.
Already had an app called PowerCleaner. This also lets me move some apps, and also uninstall.
So I am OK for the moment. Just strange that the phone itself doesnt have a facility to do this (though I am sure I have done it in the past for photos)
So conclusion good for now - thanks0 -
Probably the app you looked at couldn't be moved unless it's an Android build with that option disabled - certainly google aren't very supportive of it. From past experience it really doesn't save much anyway as there is still a pretty large chunk left in device storage. At least make sure all your media is stored on the SD. The only real answer is to go for a 16GB minimum spec when you next upgrade,0

yep - like most stuff I buy. Buy cheap/uninformed/unresearched, then have to buy again.
Wish I knew the Qs in the first place rather than having to find out the answers later !
Facebook was moved to SD but videos and photos cannot be it seems0 -
Videos and photos are the easiest things to move to the SD card, and the first thing you should do, before getting into the complications you now know about with moving SOME apps to SD.
Firstly, (this may vary of course depending on your phone, be creative!) go into your phone's camera, into the settings, and find a setting that makes it take photos onto SD instead of internal memory. Now all your new photos and videos goto the SD card.
To go further, download File Commander from the app store (or maybe you already have it, maybe you already have ES File Explorer, or some other File Manager on your phone) and MOVE the photo/video folder from the internal memory to the SD card. They may be called DCIM, Photos, Videos or other. The clue will be that the photos or videos you have taken will be inside them.
General rule - internal memory for apps, SD card for other stuff (photos, videos, music etc).0 -
