downloaded the Titanium thing
! It won't work because "your phone is not rooted" ...........
all so complicated0 -
Do you know what is using the space? This would be the best place to start.
https://www.howtogeek.com/206591/how-to-see-whats-taking-up-space-on-your-android-device/
And if it is apps, rather than media which are taking up the majority of the space which of them is using the most storage space?0 -
seems to be apps.
Word 580kb
calculator 596kb (seems a lot !)
powerpoint 36kb
exel 36kb
RCP Components 776kb (what is this)
video 172kb
Bold - get rid of these
aol 97mb
chrome 84mb
facebook 453 mb
gallery 27mb
messanger 201mb
Device 7.44GB used out of 8.00GB
SD card 341mb used out of 7.24GB0 -
1mb is 1024kb, so those apps are tiny, and really not worth worrying about. Facebook on the other hand is using almost half a GB of your storage...0
-
so what are you saying... get rid of facebook (so I would have to search/sign in each time, to use it ??).
How to get rid of it then, if I cant 'uninstall'
Isnt there a way of transferring stuff to the SD card so I dont use up the phones memeory ?0 -
I'm saying not to waste time trying to uninstall tiny apps, feel free to uninstall updates and disable them so you don't grow in size though.
The point I'm making is you need to work out exactly what apps are using (and abusing) valuable space and how important they are to you. Some apps can be partly transferred over to the SD card but not all of them. The option should be somewhere in the storage information section for the individual app within the application menu.
I will say though that if it is apps that are causing the problem and you only have apps on your phone that you do use then you are going to be fighting a losing battle here, you'll free up a little space for a while and then the apps will get updates, be slightly bigger and you are back where you started.0 -
get rid of AOL !!
Also, you should find lots of your apps can be "moved to sd card".
Notice how you are hardly using any of your space on that.
That will free up a ton of internal space0 -
I remember an option from some time ago "move to SD card"
But where is it ?? (the option). Some things had this option, some not.
Sorry to be dense, but where is it ?0 -
application manager, click on the app in question
then there should be the option to move to SD.
Some apps dont allow this however, but most do..
Also, with your stock apps that you cant remove, it is possible to "uninstall updates" - once this is done you can disable the app so it doesnt download the updates again0
