Refund refused unless I remove my negative review!

I booked an MOT with Mr Clutch and paid online prior to the appointment. On the day of the appointment my husband was 10 minutes late to the appointment (we have 2 babies and struggled to get there due to illness). My husband was turned away - rudely for being late and told they could not fit us in again until later that week. We asked for a refund- they said they would have to do that through head office! I complained to head office about the service and requested my refund. I also posted a negative review on trust pilot.Head office have refused to give me a refund unless I remove my review from Trust Pilot! Surely that's not allowed? Why should my refund be dependent on me taking down my honest review of the service received?

    How honest was your review?

You book a test didn't turn up and they had no more slots until later in the week. It hardly deserves a negative review.

Why do you think you should get a refund? It's not their fault you missed the appointment.

You were late - the reason is absolutely irrelevant. They couldn't rebook your slot but are prepared to refund your money - so losing out themselves. Pretty good service actually! Remove the review and get a refund. A decent person would then leave a positive review for issuing you with a refund out of goodwill.

In case you haven't worked it out yet you aren't entitled to a refund - they are offering you one as a goodwill gesture.

YOUR husband was late and not the fitters, they told him that they could fit you in later in the week. They have done nothing wrong , so you are not entitled to a refund as technically you broke the contract.
I have placed a strike through your attempt at the sympathy vote by users on here as that makes no difference.

Because you're being very harsh, your OH messed up, not the company.

Millions of people have babies, millions have illnesses, they're not an excuse for missing a booked appointment.

I'm going to turn this around, and ask why did you post a negative review when your husband was late and the company offered an alternative appointment later in the week? The company's actions strike me as quite reasonable - where as your actions strike me as quite unreasonable.

Let's be honest, the company lost revenue - they ended up with an empty slot. The company did the right thing by not trying to 'fit in' your husband when he eventually arrived - thus making all the other appointments for the rest of the day late, and inconveniencing other customers and staff. It takes a fixed amount of time to do an MOT - you can't rush whiz a car through.

Only post a negative review if the company has done something genuinely wrong and has failed to address it.
