Do I have to stop at a pedestrian crossing for a cyclist?

Then perhaps it's time for you to read the Highway Code again

Rule 195: "As you approach a zebra crossing- look out for pedestrians waiting to cross and be ready to slow down or stop to let them cross
- you MUST give way when a pedestrian has moved onto a crossing"
Ah yes, there's that approach word, just in the wrong part of my mind.
Gotta say, I don't see many pedestrians (myself included) WAIT to cross. I walk out in front of plenty of cars (whilst watching the driver/planning an escape route!).0 -
I was taught as a child to put one foot on the crossing and wait for the traffic to stop.0
