Dawn sorry your having issues with bay of e. You always seem to have decent sales through it. Can you just sell 'privately' or doesn't it work like that. Forgive my ignorance. Hope you're feeling better.
My day was productive with list done. Accounts are tight, so need to keep menu planning under strict control. Used a ys garlic flatbread for tea, off to investigate making my own.
Ally safe trip. Accept all the free food in the train, especially stuff in packets. Travels better0 -
Welcome Poppy, pull up a chair!
Datlex, I find the same with cleaning stuffs in the £ shop, the branded ones may be cheaper but an own brand version will be about 75p.
Well, despite having 30 watchers my guitar didn't sell??? Who'd have thought it? I've had an offer from someone locally so will take them up on it. I did however sell the strap :rotfl:
I popped in for the YS run and managed to bag the only YS punnet of strawberries, two packs of mashed potato, some fresh cream scones and sandwiches for tomorrow. I was one of the last to arrive and one of the other regulars was after the strawberries too so I doubt I'm very popular but I have a soft fruit addiction to feed :rotfl: To be fair I did pass her some cherries another time when there was only one so this time it was my turn.
I bought a (full price  ) pack of roast chicken to go with one of the packs of mash. Mr Grabby said he would never pay full price for it but as far as I'm concerned, I've been at work all day, I was carrying heavy stuff home from work and I managed to feed two of us for £2.14 (and only using the microwave and kettle!) so that's okay by me. I had mine with piccalilli and DS had his heated with gravy.
DS has come back from the GP armed with antibiotics, he still looks and feels rough. He's very anti drugs of any kind (I may have over egged the pudding a little with my drugs chats when he was younger) and won't even take painkillers if he can help it so I know if he's asking for painkillers he must be feeling really ill.
It's windy and rainy here, I love it (as long as I'm inside!) The perfect night to sit in bed with a good book listening the the wind howl! It does however mean the leaky roof in the garden store will leak a little but I've positioned something under it.
Hope everyone is warm and cosy indoors!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Renew house insurance - not sure how I've not done thisexpires tomorrow so must do it today
Check banking, surveys and FPL

Couple of mint leaves and the end of the cucumber in my infused water bottle

Morning
Whoop another day - have been up a few hours and decided to get cracking on a couple of the outstanding tasks I have at work. I've said to my boss I will be taking some time back on Friday afternoon as will be up doing the election count. I'm owed 2.5 hours already and have done 1 3/4 hours this morning and need to go into the office while Madam is at ballet so I think I'm now good & with be up to date with urgent tasks by the end of Friday
- was rough for a couple of weeks there!
Things to do today:
* madam has asked to go to soft play. She has money given to her so can buy her snack and a little toy from the machine (I hate these!) so I will only need to pay entrance & ballet after lunch
* [STRIKE]mince out of freezer to make spag bol[/STRIKE]. I'll make lentil version for myself in the SC
* raining so no allotment. I was hoping to go this morning but weather meant I couldn't. Hope to do the repotting
* volunteering this evening. [STRIKE]Just need to text those involved to confirm meeting time & place & what to bring[/STRIKE]
* sort out house, starting to fall behind - it's a work in progress!
* clean out car - tis an embarrassment!
* [STRIKE]booked hair cut for madam tomorrow[/STRIKE]
* pick up bits of school uniform I ordered for madam
Ok that'll do. Better get a move on if I hope to get things done!
Welcome to new postersstick around we're a good bunch

Thanks. The company is paying for me to go First Class in one direction, there'll be free food and the hotel has a pool. I'm taking all my digital toys to play with in the evening and some DVDs so I can pretend I'm on holiday.
Nothing changes the fact that I'll be separated from DW though.
How long will you have to be away Ally? I used to largely hate work trips too, even the ones to exotic locations (to say nothing of Rotterdam on August Bank Holiday, an old telephone exchange in Shoreditch and a run down ex holiday camp thing (?) somewhere in a nice, but rainy bit of Wales :rotfl:)PurpleFairy26 wrote: »Dawn sorry your having issues with bay of e. Work in progress PF - I will be closing down my biz account, and will have to open a private one as a new user, and will scale right down. I am too honest I guess, like most people I buy some items specifically to sell on, which to HMRC, and ebay regs, means that I am a business, albeit on a very small scale. I started doing this as a hobby before I retired, when I had the kind of job where everything I did had to be completely above board, so carried on as I started. In future, although I will of course continue to do the HMRC thing, as I believe we should all pay taxes owed if we want decent public services, anything I do on ebay will be as a private person  Ebay, with its 30 days return policies open to misuse (I have sold personal items of clothing before, and had them reappear after a month obviously worn, and sometimes damaged, buyers refunded by ebay including the cost of my posting the item out to them ) and pushing ebay branded packaging might be ok if you are the size of Next or M&S, but not for someone who simply sells a few things to supplement their pension
Others may have different views of course, but this has been my experience, and sadly, others on the ebay user forums. I have indeed sold quite a lot over the last few months, as in sometimes 5 or 6 items a day (tailed off recently), and most buyers are lovely and I get super feedback, but I have definitely had my share of hassle and scammers lately0 -
Anyway, enough moaning from me :rotfl:
Today's list still not very ambitious as I am still recovering and low on energy (and I have little GD to look after tomorrow ). And it is pouring with rain again - right, definitely no more moaning :rotfl::rotfl:
* Strawberries from hanging baskets for breakfast
* Walk dog if there is a break in the rain (I don't mind it that much but he does, so much so that walking is absolutely out of the question :rotfl:)
* Bit of shopping needed - list in preparation
* Take bag of unwanted clothing to clothes bank in supermarket car park at the same time - profits go to the local air ambulance
* Go to sales unit, to see if anything needed
* Grab some lettuce from the garden
* Cook the last of the items I got out of the freezer at the weekend for a BBQ - beef olives, which actually wouldn't have been suitable for a BBQ at all, but need to be casseroled (I googled!). Will cook in SC for dinner - it is certainly casserole weather!
More coffee needed I think!0 -

Bay of E drives me nuts too. If there was another platform that worked half as well I'd use it. There's too many rules for my liking, hence my only listing a couple of items a month.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0

I upcycled two metal garden chairs which had started to rust and were looking very tired. The DH and I painted them glossy black with some old Hammerite paint we found in the garage. Instead of throwing four completely 'shot' garden cushions away I reused them as squabs for two new cushions for the newly painted chairs by buying a cheap offcut of expensive and beautiful linen material. I haven't got a sewing machine so I hand sewed them and they and the chairs look fantastic.
I feel very MMF. To buy the equivalent chairs and cushions new would have been about £100 (the sort of dosh I had when we were both working full time) but the refurb cost me £3.50 a chair.0 -
Morning all, what a wet and blustery day! I have borrowed DS's parks for the day so I'm warm and dry.
I left a little early this morning to pick up a multipack of crisps on the way to the station so I now have all food and snacks for the day.
Today will be busy, one of this weeks freelancers didn't turn up and the one booked in a senior capacity is looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. I will go all out to make sure everything runs smoothly as the bloke who has been moved off for a few weeks is the type that would relish being called back to bail us out.
I had a run in with a generally rude, moany, obnoxious woman we share office space with yesterday. She was rude to me first so I was just as rude back and like all bullies she backed down. My anger may have also been fuelled by her being very greedy in the sale last week and taking two storm lanterns before the sale had actually started
I need to check my post tonight as there should be a couple of small cheques there but every little helps, talking of which, I need to buy cat food from the larger Mr T which I can combine with a trip to the late opening Post office to send the guitar strap.
