When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning
I am chipper with the end of the relentless volunteering in sight :j somehow in our final hour I have managed to recruit a group of volunteers for the final leg
Today is a tough day, oh still away (will be back tonight) so need to leave early to drop madam at cm's, full on day at work, volunteering until 8/8.30 then go and pick up madam and go home. Still after today, although I am volunteering every day I don't have to work until Friday.
Things for today:
* [STRIKE]make mine and madam's lunches. Make an additional sandwich for after work[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]send message to bff about picking up a dress for her party on Saturday[/STRIKE]
* get petrol and make note of mileage
* all meals from stores
* [STRIKE]check banking and do a money shuffle[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] water plants[/STRIKE]if it's still light when I've got madam to bed I'll pot on the peppers
* depending on energy levels I might sweep the yard....
* picking up 2 garden chairs for a song from Poundstretcher
Ok that's all I'll have time for. Hope you all have a good day. Ziggy so glad to hear Mr Z is on the mend xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all,
Just seen the weather forecast. Massive rain for here, so not a garden day & as I don't have the car till later in the week, not a going out day. I'm not going to make a list today. Instead, I'm just going to start in the kitchen & work through the house clearing Annoying Things & doing what needs doing. Quite a lot of this will be small bits of money saving (which I could really do with cranking up a gear). So I shall get cracking now & will report back later with hopefully a successful & useful day.
Wishing everyone a good start to the new week.

Morning everyone,
Hope everyone is well. Looks like rain is on the forecast and it's staring to cloud over already. Shame as that means I won't be able to get in my evening walk. I managed 23k steps yesterday.
Got quite a busy week ahead and I'm in charge of my team for 2 weeks whilst my manager is away so have to attend meetings in her absence and have to be on late calls from 7-8pm
So today looks like this;
* pack up and post 4 items sold on eBay last night
* Return 2 items to click and collect shop
* Go to Tesco and get the weekly shop
* Transfer money from Paypal into saving account
* I finally made the £25 payout on surveys from swagbucks but annoyingly I can't transfer the money right away. I need them to send me a postcard with a code on it which I them input to verify the transfer ....sounds like stalling the payout to me :mad:
* Get in a workout at lunchtime at home
* Contact one of my creditors about why they are making it so difficult to pay them! All I want is the standing order details but they don't seem to comprehend what I'm asking for :mad:
Have a good Monday whatever you're all up to. Hope it's stress free0 -
Morning all, here we go again
I managed to get an appointment booked for DS, cab fares either way and prescription charge will take a big chunk of my car boot money but I'd have had to pay it anyway so at least it's covered without dipping into the bank account.
All food brought in from home today so no spends there. I do have to part with £10 for something bought in a sale but think I can sell it on for four times that.
I have a few things ending on eBay today, 30 watchers on my guitar so fingers crossed xMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hi June Joy-Seekers,
DW doesn't feel like doing anything adventurous today so I guess I'm branching out alone again.
Need to get ready for business trip later, too.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:
* Checked online banking.
* Did RM Surveys.
* Run along the promenade (free) then swam at the outdoor pool, followed by a long shower at the pool.
* Read meters.
* Used free Runkeeper App.

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us off determined
My plans for today:
WFH, so hoping to get a few 'jobs' done too
Annoyingly I have 3 loads of wet washing, the forecast said it would be dry until 12ish, which would have been great to dry most of it outside as it's breezy, I could have finished off rest inside for the rest of the day. But no, it started raining at the very moment I stepped out the door to peg it out, and annoyingly I'd just put the 3rd load onSo now the house will be full of wet washing which is exactly what I wanted to avoid
Get DH phone off him and move some money back to our JT acc as part of the big money shuffle
Update spreadsheets as some movement today on the accounts
Overnight oats and basics yogurt for breakfast
must go for run at some point before school is out
Make list of other 'jobs' I need to do this week (go to small building society and withdraw some money and make their books up, take return back etc...)
Save P60 (and P11d if its available) from work system so I can use for tax return
Check surveys
Right, back later, must do some work. Purps.0 -
Hi Guys .. is it ok if I join in .. had my LBM a few weeks ago and determined to hammer it ?
today started early for me .. I was wide awake at 2.30 so have managed a few from my list
workouts using home DVDs - jillian micheals and leslie sanson .. killers but worth it and free
list some more ebay stuff, post sales from last night and hopefully have a few more to package up tonight.
I have a really posh wedding at the weekend and instead of buying a new outfit I have decided to wear a dress I used for a wedding a few year ago .. one button was missing so was gonna buy some new ones today but my mam icked me some up from the booty so NSD for me and stitching the buttons on lol.
main job all day today (sitting here now) I do work in the city center but I refuse to call into the shops on the way home
got some prepping to do for my second job tonight when I get in from work but did a bit at the weekend so hopefully not tooo bad.
I forgot lunch for work today so I need to rake through my drawers to find something to keep me going .. I only have notes in my purse and im determined not to use them as I want to pay in the bank and make a cc payment tonight
Think that's about it for me today aside from the usual cook clean and wash when I get home ... with 2 teenagers its a lot of cooking cleaning and washing lol
Thanks a million guys

Morning all,
We are away this week but shouldn't be too expensive
-Sharing the drive down with mum and dad so sharing fuels costs
-Each family taking the stuff for a main meal each evening
-Downloaded a couple of free books to my kindle to read whist I'm away
Really looking forward to a relaxed week. Might not be here every day but will pop in when I can xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all, feeling a bit better today after being poorly all weekend, I haven't much energy (was up all night after sleeping most of yesterday
) and it is pouring with rain, so not sure how much will get done today. Definitely feeling better, but still very tender and fragile - not like me at all :rotfl:
Anyway, a NSD as I am not going anywhere to spendDone, nothing spent
Need to cook the rest of the food I got out for a BBQ over the weekend that never happened - will refreeze what we won't eat immediately once cooked - no food waste here! Cooked /part cooked most of it. One item to go, which I will do tomorrow
Try to walk the dog at some stage, but he won't go if it is raining (unless I carry him inside my coat, which rather defeats the object :rotfl:) It stopped for half an hour to allow one walk, but it really has been horrible, pouring down almost all day, and cold as well
Ring dog groomer to make an appointment for mutt, as he looks like my granny's old floor mop :rotfl:Done, he is going on Thursday. Not MSE, but needs doing!
If anything else gets done, it will be a bonus!
Well, I did a couple of surveys for onepoll
Sorted out 2 of my clothes drawers and turfed out half a binbag of items that I don't / won't wear, which can go to the clothes bank in the supermarket car parkNot moneysaving directly, but I find it helps to be organised and know what I have and where to find it
Sorted some paperwork
Sold an ebay item
Looks as though I will have to refund another buyer as her item hasn't arrivedI have had a lot of hassle lately, and what with that and the basic shop fee suddenly increasing from £16 to £25, I have closed my ebay shop, just waiting for the items still listed to run their course, but not relisting anything or listing anything new at the moment. May dump my biz account, which is a shame because I have excellent feedback, but not sure I can be doing with all the hassle
Definitely giving it a rest for the summer!
OH did the hoovering :A
PS welcome mumofthetwins Lisa, we like to see new people here0
