UKPC Parking Charge - Stevenage Leisure Park

Good afternoon all,
I apologise for adding yet another query to your forum but I would really appreciate some help.
My car was parked at Stevenage Leisure park today.
Arrived at around 1115hrs.
The driver went to the cinema to book tickets and opted for a screening at 1240hrs to see Wonder Woman.
This afforded them enough time to have breakfast at Coast to Coast.
They returned to the car on the way back from the cinema to find a yellow parking charge notice on the windscreen stating "driver left the site".
I believe this must be a mistake; I would support these kind of charges if people parked and went shopping elsewhere without using the facilities the car park is intended for. Reading the signs in detail, they state that leaving the site makes you liable for this charge.
I find this incredulous and I'm aware the ignore process is not to be followed since some laws were changed around these companies and how they operate.
They're demanding £100 within 28 days or £60 if paid within 14 days.
I can ill afford to pay such extortionate fees and feel this charge is absurd when the facilities were used on site in line with parking there.
So I ask - what are my options?
Thank you in anticipation for your help.
Simon

your options are to appeal in 25 days using the blue text template once you have read the NEWBIES sticky thread
an appeal will be based on legal arguments, not on "what happened" on the day
also complain to the landholder or MA and insist on a cancellation
do not reveal who was driving
edit your post above so there is no hint of who was driving0 -
So I ask - what are my options?
As set out in 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST'. Not being funny, being pragmatic as we can't cover the basics of standard, template first appeal, again and again on this busy forum. Wish we could, but the forum is too busy and people's queries would be missed of we tried to do it like that.
And the first appeal is one-size-fits-all.
We will certainly help more at POPLA stage. And do not reply if they ask who was driving in a daft letter/email reply...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Thank you both for your prompt replies and I sympathise that you get the same questions continually.
I had read the newbies page prior to posting and in my ignorance wanted to create a post as a "cover all bases" option in case any details I added created an exception.
When complaining to the owner of the land (in this case JLL), do I simply state what I previously wrote?
I don't want to trip myself up with a badly written complaint or if that is even possible if I state the whole truth to them as a consumer of their services.
Thanks again and apologies if I have missed details on the above question. I have been reading through successful cancellations and haven't located a template for contacting the owners.0 -
do not admit to the drivers details for starters in the complaint
merely say that the occupants of the vehicle were legitimate customers of the businesses on the retail park (using the car park correctly) , show any proof of patronage of these businesses and insist on a cancellation
nobody should be admitting to going off site !!!
its their job to prove their case so dont prove anything for the PPC
stick to being parked as a legitimate customer , no admitting who may have been driving and get JLL or whoever to cancel this spurious charge
if this isnt complete (in writing) by day 25 , use the blue text template to UKPC (if you dont understand why , read that NEWBIES thread again until it sinks in)0 -
I'm a stickler for details.
Is this complaint sufficient in your eyes without implicating myself?

"Complaint for parking charge from UKPC for legitimately using the car park at Stevenage Lesiure Park."
Good evening,
I'm writing to yourselves as you are the owners of the car park outlined above.
My car was legitimately parked in your car park at Stevenage Leisure Park on the 4th June 2017 whilst the occupants were having breakfast at Coast to Coast before watching Wonder Woman at Cineworld.
I emplore you to cancel this blatant attempt at extorting money from UKPC from your paying customers immediately!
Receipts for the services used are available to corrobarate this complaint.
Reference No. *Number*
An unhappy customer,

its implore , with an i
otherwise its good to go as long as you provide COPIES of receipts , so scans or pictures, not the originals
add the pcn reference , date , your name and your contact details0 -
Excellent, thank you once again. Will update with any information as I get it.0

JLL cancelled my PCN at this site (also a 'left site' ticket) within a day, so they do appear to be pragmatic about complaints. Good luck.0

This gives me hope Ratechaser... thank you!!0

How did you contact them? Their online contact form is merely a form to fill in and they get back to you. Is this how you contacted them?0
