Yes I totally agree with Kitten. If you settle a loan check on conditions of early settlement. Sometimes it is one months interest so making a few lump sum payments to reduce the capital means final settlement will be as small as it can be rather than doing just one settlement.

Good shout @Kitten868 and @enthusiasticsaver makes sense actually. I'll dig out the paperwork and see what it says. I'm all for paying less in the long run.

Had my home insurance quote through this morning, £151. Challenge today is to get a better deal.. With cash back too if possible.

Managed to get home insurance for £136 with £30 cash back. Not bad at all. Also already budgeted for and paid off in full. Love annual bills pot for that... Which is half funded by my PA surveys!

    Morning,

Quickly stopping by. Want to try and write here more regularly now the end is in sight.

Picked up a few hours overtime Thursday and yesterday. Should get that in time for next pay. Hopefully do a little more on Monday. Pretty much all of it will go to the debt.

Weather has been so miserable lately. We're still thinking of going out for a walk even if it'll be a wet one. 🤷‍♀️.

Got my weeks meal planning to do and shopping this morning also. Also need to dig out the loan paperwork for DH and have a read through early settlement conditions.

Sundays are never my day of rest!

  • Hello!

    The regular updates didn't happen🙈

Eldest 2 are now back at school. How long for I don't know as we've got positive cases in the school now. Although only class bubbles are having to isolate it feels like a matter of time until one of mine have to self isolate.

DH is back at work off furlough. They're being really unreasonable with him though. He's preempted a potential requirement to WFH if one of our kids have to self isolate (of course we'd have to split it) but they've been very snotty about it...well his manager has. Bare in mind we're already using family for childcare when we shouldn't be in order to ensure he could return 🙈 His manager basically stated he should be lucky he has a job 😏 He's also being sent all over the country, from Newcastle to Milton Keynes in a day and expected to not raise a health issue on this. They book in the jobs and don't allow for comfort breaks/lunch. Therefore when he does stop he has to accept working late. Add to the fact they've all been sent an email requesting voluntary pay cuts until things improve 😕

I fear it'll be like this everywhere at the moment.

  • Sorry things are so stressful at the moment but it looks like that debt will be gone by Christmas so you are in a great position financially obviously jobs permitting.  Do you have savings too?  If not it might be an idea to up emergency savings if job situation precarious?
