Today has been my only day off this week. Had loads planned! Of course my body and the weather have conspired against me so I've not achieved all that I'd hoped.

Having said that, with the help of my youngest, I've washed my car. The inside is still a tip though :rotfl:

The food budget thing has not gone too well either, hoping to pull this back.
Currently it's £123.64/£250. So not a lot to last until May 15th!! Ooops

On another note. I've realised with this lovely weather that it may not be always best to baby wear the twins as it could get a bit hot. So I've looked into getting carrycots and adaptors for my pram. Although they can go in the pram from birth I'm not fully comfortable with them facing away.
The carrycots direct from the company are £130 each

I've managed to find one carrycot for sale on FB with an adaptor for £60, I'd got it down from £70. So just need to source one more, hopefully for a similar price. Will be collecting it on Sunday.

Did my weekly shop at Ald1 today and although the baby event was on I resisted buying things for the sake of it. Just being very realistic on what I need and not what I'm made to think I need.

Not much movement on debts at the moment. Just waiting on DH to get paid and then more will be coming out.

    Hey diary,

been absent for just over a week. Combination of work and being utterly exhausted all the time so just trying to grab sleep when I can.

29 weeks pregnant and had the toughest week of being pregnant since the sickness stopped at 14 weeks. The bump is huge, bigger than it ever got when pregnant with my singletons, it's taking a lot out of me. I've had to admit defeat with work and not do any more overtime and look into reducing my hours. Only 7 weeks left in work if I don't decide to finish earlier.

Had my scan this week. Babies measuring good weights, but have to go back on the 8th of May for another scan. The novelty of regular scans has worn off somewhat now.

Was able to source another carry cot, this time for £69 and a double carrycot adapter for £18. So the total cost has been £147, whereas getting them new would've set me back in the region of £290

DH got paid yesterday so his loan has come out.

Can't believe it's the end of April. Ever closer to my due date.

Keep getting scared about that fact. How will I cope as a mum of 4? How will the finances hold up?
Almost every day I'm writing in my bullet journal, go over numbers. Incomings, outgoings, savings, projections etc.I keep staring at it all as if in hope that I've miscalculated and in fact I've underestimated in the incomings :rotfl:

Anyway, last day of the month and have a few final payments to add to the list.

First of the month which means I reset my targets to be achieved.

It's weird I actually had my LBM in May last year, not sure when in May though, I think it was towards the end. It's gone so quick.

Then in June I started this diary. It's been slow going with hiccups and shocks along the way but at least we have less debt than a year ago!

Almost 2 weeks into the month and I've not really updated.
This has been partly because the first two weeks of the month are generally the quietest when it comes to debt busting - but also I've been feeling so run down and tired that I've barely wanted to do anything let alone update my diary.

The twins are doing well. Currently 31 weeks. Latest growth scan showed that they've grown considerably and are now estimated as being 3lb9 each!! No wonder I'm drained!

I really am starting to worry about their arrival. I know I will cope, but I do panic that I won't.

I've not done any of this...as mentioned my motivation to do anything has been lacking.
Maybe I should've set up a napping challenge.

Earn £80 payable from survey sites £50/£80

I've cashed out on the Yougov £50 - just waiting for it to land in my account. Can take up to 4 weeks but it would be nice to get that in my account by the end of the month. Regardless, I've included it in my figures.

Been slacking on the survey front though in general

Been a hard, long month this for the food budget.
I'm thinking of using local fruit/veg deliveries and meat deliveries and then only going to the shops for non perishables etc.

Payday has come along and so I can update my figures and see the debt going down again :)

    Totals as of 16th May

    Lloyds CC £5483.11
    MBNA CC £4123.15
Barclaycard CC £1172.64 £180 paid off

    M&S Loan £6669.68

    Next £76.52 £20 paid off

Total debt as of 1st May £31553.27
Total debt as of 16th May £30959.78

Next month looks like we'll get below the £30k debt, owe less than £1k on the BC etc. The TV finance will no longer exist - the twins might be born (eeek). No but seriously it's a huge psychological boost seeing the numbers go down. I'm particularly excited to not see the number 3 at the beginning of the overall debt that's for sure.

I've given up my compost fund - it's taking forever to reach. I'm going to assess whether I can pay it outright without having to save.

Food budget looks like this £57/£250.

Really hoping to keep to the food budget this month and intend to raid the freezers and eat more of what we actually have in

Hope your DH back problems are being held at bay and you get an answer after the scan. My brother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (relapsing and remitting) about 2 years ago now. Still managing to work and play golf too due to drugs he takes. Hopefully it is not that but if it is there are ways it can be managed.

Good you managed to get some bargains for the twins re carrycots etc. My DGD2 is 3 weeks old now and very laid back, completely unlike DGD1 to my DDs relief. Hopefully your twins will be nice easy babies.

    Thanks :)

DH has an appointment at the end of this month so another step closer to some answers. His back has been OK for last couple of weeks thankfully.

Congrats on DGD2, 3 weeks already. I really hope these twins are chilled too :rotfl:
the closer I'm getting to their arrival the more scared I'm becoming at the thought of coping. I've resigned myself to the fact that I may not remember the next 12 months!
