Can anyone give me advice on the following please:

After not selling anything at the fair yesterday I have been emailed by someone who passed on my details to a garden centre/gift shop. I am talking a "very" nice garden centre in quite an affluent area. I have been asked to email then pics of my cakes today:eek:

If you were to hit the top end of the market where would you purchase your items for a luxury nappy cake? ie. blankets, toys etc.

My most expensive cakes have been using Disney store items but I don't know if that would be allowed to go into a shop. I don't now if Asda, Matalan, Mothercare would be different enough or expensive enough for this type of place. Maybe they just won't be interested!!!!!!!

    Any adivice? please

How about Pumpkin Patch? Someone suggested them to me for organic clothes. They have really nice stuff that isn't too expensive and they often have sales on. :rotfl:
    Avon Rep - C13 68.86; C14 259.29; C15 218.28; C16 268.42; C17 ...?

Thanks the two cakes I have posted above are from Pumpkin Patch. There are no stores in Scotland (DH got these things when on business) and the website does not do the toys etc.

    It is lovely though:D

    Hi everyone,

Been so busy, not been on here for a while. (Not cake stuff!)

Shame about the craft stalls that didn’t work out – better luck next time.

Lovely cakes everyone and Irlrip, I think your 2 new cakes look really sweet.
Sounds like you have a big decision to make on the “Garden Centre” thing!
Do you really have to use expensive stuff? I only ask because when my DIL left work to have my grandson, they gave her a big baby bouquet (sock roses etc) that was from one of the really expensive sites. Anyway, all the clothes were not very good quality at all but they were embroidered with the company name. I’ve noticed this before – poor quality but company logo! Food for thought!!!!!

    Hi Code,

Blankets from Matalan are the best to fold as they are square, when most of the others are oblong which causes real problems.

Lay the blanket face down on bed (diamond shape) with hood nearest to you, (but underneath.)
Start folding from top pointed bit down to start of hood. Then fold hood bit up.
Start with approx 4 inch fold but if it doesn’t work out you might have to unfold and try again, smaller or bigger folds until its right, Usually takes 4 or 5 folds.

At this point I pin the strip so it doesn’t fall apart when I put around cake.
COUNT THE PINS to make sure you’ve removed them all.

When putting around cake, pull slightly to get a snug fit and either overlap one end over other at back or tuck one end into other. (Bit fiddly doing this) Pin together till you get ribbon on then remove or use a safety pin.

You won’t need to put anything in to hold the front up as it stays up on its own.

Sorry it’s a bit long winded – hope it helps!

I got these rabbits in the January Sales and have had the towels for ages and only just got round to making them up.
Am in the middle of making 2 blue ones the same.
Can I ask if anyone likes one more than the other? - Pink or White Ribbons?

Thanks girls - thats why I made 1 of each as I couldn't make my mind upwhich colour way.

First time I have made one with clothes inside (I usually put sleepsuit on outside) and its been a right fiddle trying to work out what to put in.

I have used a muslin on top of bottom tier and the rest are just ribbons. On top is a washcloth that came with the towels.

Just a muslin cloth ......... you make it look so beautiful :D
Although loving them both, I like the extra bit of pink on the bottom tier.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D
