Lovely cakes Rusty i like the way you have covered the 1st tier with something so you don't see the nappies who was it that done that i cant remember now but its a great idea so well done to them as well

Thanks ladies ... I just realised the ribbons on the blue one look black they are actually navy blue in real life, I guess my camara skills on that one were shocking :rotfl:

It was bargain babe I think. Plus they had to be covered as it was a shop order and they always ask for them to be covered!

yes i think you could be right there i had never seen it done before she should us and now i have seen it done a lot lol always the way

Oh look all this copying crap again! I give in ... Why I never bother to post on here because of the way you word your comments. I deliberately haven't posted anything on here because of snide comments and then the first time I post 2 cakes on here thinking it would have stopped it hasn't. You have no room to comment about copying, considering you get most of your ideas from the states, infact I haven't seen one single original idea from you. Even your supposed original knickerbocker glorys aren't that original as people were selling them before you on ebay, yet you sit and complain that people are copying you!

I don't think you had joined the board when I posted some of my first cakes, some of them were covered though! I used to do it, but then stopped, only do it now because it is requested, and they are a big seller in there for me so won't complain.

I give up!
I am out of here. Have removed my cake pics. Anyone ever needs help with cakes then you know where I am, I am always happy to help people, but I aint happy to recieve all the snide remarks!

I am an OLD poster, I rebumped up this old thread back in July 2008! and from then on there were so many other people who also started! I hate venting on this thread but I am sick of the snide comments. If you didn't put the comments there in the first place then there would be no need for any of it.

I always cover my first tier with either a bib or wash cloth
to hide the nappies , i don't think i have copied just used common sense
nobody has said anything on here about mine and i even gave a tip about
putting a piece of elastic in blanket or muslin cloth to draw it in
which gives a lovely finish
we are all copying each others ideas whether we realise it or not
i have seen a few things on here and know they have been copied from
usa sites but people claim its they own design , so what who are we hurting by doing that ! nobody.
Rusty - i think your cakes were lovely and clever girl for adding the bib to hide the nappies

sorry if i have upset anybody but think this needs to be said
