Hi can anyone tell me how to fix the little motifs/roses to the top of sock cupcakes, please?

    Thanks

    hi
i use double sided tape or if the rose has a bit of wire push that in,
not sure if you have any of those sticky dots but they are great

Thanks, I did use double sided tape but was just scared it would leave the socks sticky.

Hi, Can I ask all you girls who have done "stalls" - do you all have a set up to take credit cards etc? I wondered if any of the stalls just did "cash" and would it be possible to do cash sales only?

After posting out a few leaflets (2nd class stamps), I have received an email to attend a large companies 'baby shower sale day', next month. I spoke to lady who has a local market stall selling baby clothes as I know she has attended a few times there. She advised me that it wasn't worth doing it, unless I had credit card facilities as no-one ever has any money to spend on the day. However, I am still going to do it, the way I see it, if people really want to buy my cakes, surely I can take orders on the day (hopefully) and they can pay cash on delivery.
I know if I needed to buy an outfit as a present for a baby, I would visit the local high street shops .... not her market stall .... if you understand what I am getting at.
Due to the number of employee's that work there, I am hoping that even if I don't get any orders on the day, at least it is some advertising ..... hopefully for some future orders, and with no charge to attend, how can I refuse (although if successful on the day, a donation to their chosen charity is appreciated).

I'd say go for it, not everyone shops with credit or debit cards, just take an order book :D

Hi julie how did it go? mine was a complete flop i could have cried as i worked so hard! the lady in charge said we got over 200 families in. Rubbish! i could have counted the amount of people i spoke to on my hands.

She told me i was the only nappy cake stall when infact there was 3 of us! and one of the stalls was doing very well. She sold real nappy cakes and always had a flock of people around her. Very pricey though so i don't know how she did it.

She offered me a stall at a football ground at £50 a table in sept but if i didn't sell anything at £25 a table i'm not sure i can risk wasting any more money.
Sorry to hear it didn't go too well.
Do you have any leaflets printed up? or a photo of your recent stall/cakes to put on them.
Have you tried posting/delivering leaflets to nurseries, schools etc?
Maybe leaving some at the local playbarns etc. or hairdressers etc.
Maybe with a bit of local advertising, you may be able to sell a few of them.

Hi, I've just discovered this site and this thread and I think your nappy cakes are fabulous. I've been making nappy cakes and handcrafted cards for friends and family but you have inspired me try and sell some.

Does anyone have any tips for wrapping the finished cakes in cellophane? Always seems to take me ages to get it just right.

Also if anyone needs white muslin squares Tesco are doing buy one get one free on their packs of 6, so you get 12 for £4.91.

    :cheesy:
