Just trailed 12 miles on the bus to the nearest Asda hoping to get some cheap Baby blankets in th Baby & Toddler event and I got a big fat NOTHING! None of the blankets were reduced and the only things they seemed to have were pks of sleepsuits @ 2 for £4, the same price as before. Had a word with assistant who said blankets etc were only ever reduced if they were soiled.

Ikkle87, Lovely first attemp! I think, when the toys are quite big, they sit better on a 1 or 2 Tier cake. On a 3, they look out of proportion.

Well Done! Almond on your sales. I havn't plucked up courage yet to do a stall! Any tips?

    hi ladies,

i was looking for advice from you. I have been offered a stall at the local village school to sell baby cakes and sock monkeys. So far i have only sold the cakes to friends and monkeys are given as gifts.
can you be brutally honest and tell me whether you think that my cakes are good enough to sell? and if so are there any tips you can give me for the stall. I have never done anything like this before so any info would be appreciated as in do you display cakes wrapped/unwrapped quantites that you took with you etc. the event is i just over a week so if i was to do it i would really need to pull my finger out
here's a couple cakes i have made so you can see what they are like

    thanks in advance

    hi
yes first tip don't do it (only joking), as i said i only wanted to help out daughter to make some money for new baby but it i am getting carried away with them, the one we did yesterday was nice only £10 so go cheap stalls otherwise you give half your profits away, i could'nt tell you what sells since last time was mostly pink and cream ones but this time blue
socks late time tons but was before easter this time one pair,
we have a big show booked for june and cost is £35 but this time i am doing my stuff - lucys liver treats , dog clothes and i can't wait to get started

Wow angelkay they look fab. I am sure your stall will look very impressive. Good luck.

Moonpenny, oh dear ...... 12 miles on the bus, I bet that took ages ...... and to get no bargins at the end of it either.
If it makes you feel any better, I couldn't find any bargins in mine either.

  • Angelkay they are gorgeous and of course you can sell them!

Your ribbon is lovely, where did you purchase it?

I have only been using cream ribbon for my cakes at the minute as I have not managed to source any other (and I didn't wanna spend any more money before selling any!)

But on the brighter side, I have finally sold 1 cake :T and have a order for a neutral cake......so off I go shopping for ingredients (again!) .....:p

Almond there is a wholesaler in washington called Dainty supplies. However these are not always the cheapest for ribbons I have found through experience.
