I made my first cake last night, just have to get ribbon to finish it. Thought it would be easy but how wrong was I lol I am sure it gets easier the more you make.

I am really struggling to get reasonably priced good quality toys though. I can't seem to get any under £5. I have tried Asda, Matalan, Boots, John Lewis and Clinton cards locally. I managed to pick up a few in the M&S sale but can't find anything else.

Any recomendations anyone....please? Is it accepatable to use TY's?

    Thanks

Irlrip, a lot of people use TY toys and I would love to if I could get them cheaply!

I tend to use tescos as they do very cute fluffy rabbit and teddy and blue and pink (£4). Also used a bear holding a blanket from Asda once which was very good.

But yeah, toys are the problem

I've often seen TY toys in Home Bargains; approx 8" high (dogs and bears usually) for £3 or £4. Might be worth a look any time you're near.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

There are some nice unisex organic ones online at the Disney Store sale at the mo. They're about £4 each. I just ordered a set of angel ones, but these are probably not useable from birth. HTH:A

Pampers nappies are plain white, apart from the yellow band around the top - although that's hidden once rolled.
I still haven't been able to present my nappy cake gift yet as H's cousin's wife has gone overdue despite no-one thinking she would. So hopefully any day now.
Just found out my friend is expecting a girl, so that's another one to do in a few months time, along with another friend, but we don't know the flavour of that one.
Going to have to take apart the one I made for myself tomorrow before my LO outgrows everything I put in it LOL! I don't want to though!

Can I ask how you all manage to get your socks to stay in place once rolled up like flowers. Do you just push them in between the nappies?
