Thanks - well I've just created a facebook group and invited/advertised to all my facebook friends so fingers crossed.

Will go back and look into the multi-packs! (we're trying for a baby at the end of next year so I suppose any spare WILL come in handy);)

Honestly have faith in yourself and I'm sure the orders will come flooding in. Hey you might need it all yourself anyway - just enjoy practising at mo;););););)

I've got a facebook group too but I've had to make it secret thanks to somebody who has a business selling nappy cakes emailing me stating mine are similar to her !!??!!! Long story but I couldn't stick the hassle so if you search on my group you won't find it.

I agree with Shelley, once someone see's them you'll have lot's of people asking. I know how you feel though about the outlay, I'm having to spend £500 for the posh fair I'm doing and it terrifies me that I'll be bringing every single item home again! I've just told myself that if that is the case I'm sure I will sell them eventually!
We're trying for a baby at the mom and DH is saying that if don't sell them we will have enough stuff to keep us going for the first few months!

Hi leni just seen your facebook group- i have one too! lol

good luck - hope you get some orders through that - I have had a few from it. get all your friends that join to invite their friends and you should get quite a few members soon!

I agree Bellag,

It's like Tesco telling sainsburys they can't operate because they sell the same things! We live in a free market and it's called competition! Shelley's cakes look completely different to hers but just happen to use a few of the same items. Good job we're not like that on here seen as we all sit here recognising many items!:rotfl:
Her website has a huge bit on copyright membership of something or other but then if you look on that copyright site it clearly states that you can only copyright it if it was your own design in the first place and not basically the same as someone elses but using different materials, and also the item you are copyrighting must not have to be the shape it is- I'd think that's fairly difficult with a nappy cake!
She also says how her business started when she received one as a gift so it seems what is good for the goose is not good for the gander!

That sounds good Becs for the brochure- I was thinking of something similar too! lol great minds think alike eh! :rotfl:

I designed and did my own website- first time i'd ever done one and it honestly was a lot easier than I thought! I used microsoft frontpage to do it all and got a premier account with paypal to add 'add to cart' buttons etc. When I had done it all my husband 'uploaded' it for me. Its not the best of websites but it was free as i didn it myself and I can now update it whenever I like too.

Thanks girls for your support and I've just decided to make my group public again but I've changed the pic and hopefully I won't have any more emails.
