My reception problems with Lyca were cleared by changing handset, from an iPhone 6 to a BlackBerry Q10.
I then found lots of reports about dodgy reception on the iPhone 6, which is a shame as otherwise I found it a very good device. However, I use few apps and make and receive a lot of calls so will stick with the Blackberry.
It has but only failing, whenever I'm on a call with a contact who uses Virgin Mobile the call quality is awful - it's like I imagine 1G might be, if it existed - it was the same on the iPhone, so assume must be an issue between the two networks and / or location related.0 -
You're partially right, and Three do the same thing with access to their 800MHz band as well.
The service is open to customers with any compatible iPhone or Pixel as well as certain models from Huawei, HTC and Blackberry which can be sourced from anywhere, as well as a number of other phones that have to be supplied direct from EE with EE firmware installed.
This is what EE says:
Three don't make it as easy to know what phones are compatible without entering the model into their coverage checker to see if it shows as "SuperVoice" compatible. It's a similar list to EE's though.
Nice one, I've included the link for anyone who wants to read the rest:

The same issue may apply on EE with an iPhone 5.
Vodafone and O2 (plus their MVNOs) have access to 2G/3G 900MHz which usually gives superior indoor coverage to EE / 3This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

EE and Three now have 800MHz in use for 4G, it's still rolling out and you do need specific phones to be able to access it. As it's even lower frequency it should give even better indoor coverage.

4G 800MHz requires deployment, a suitable (VoLTE) phone and activation on the network's side unlike 2G/3G 900MHz which is pretty much ubiquitous across those networks and their MVNOs.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I'm not sure how your post says anymore than mine, Heng
Yours is more for the future
This thread is people with lower cost / older tech phones plus the lack of VoLTE support by MNOs for MVNOs, which doesn't help. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
