I'd sing along (really badly - out of tune and getting most of the words wrong but VERY enthusiastically). It'll show you aren't being annoyed and if you're bad enough they may turn it down.

My neighbour does this (although not to annoy me). She has the radio on loud all day long in the garden and at weekends it's sport.

It's right outside where I work from home so I just have a good pair of noise cancelling headphones - I just wear them on their own without anything playing through them and it works just fine.

I remember many years ago a neighbour over the back of us used to play loud music in the garden on sunny Sunday afternoons. One day I turned the radio up full blast with a really boring cricket commentary on. I heard the woman say "how inconsiderate" - made me :rotfl: .
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Dflights i sympathise with you! I also have inconsiderate neighbours and unfortunately most of the gardens with terraces are so narrow that there's no escaping it. I like the sprinkler and retaliation music ideas. 😁

I sympathise, I am sure there was a court case around here where a stereo was confiscated due to a tenant playing music all day. Why can't she wear headphones?

Whilst looking for the court case mentioned above I found this

It's unlikely that her mobile phone is physically capable of reaching a sound pressure level high enough for you to have a leg to stand on.

It irritating you when you've said you're sensitive to noise is completely different from legally playing music too loud.

By the way, I'd make absolutely certain that your landlord is OK (in writing) with you running your business from home and storing flammable materials in one of the bedrooms, as a retaliatory complaint about the smell and danger presented by those could backfire upon you if you choose to escalate your complaints.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

It's now escalated to her playing the music whenever she notices me out in my garden.

I was trying to relax with a book in the sun today, and not five minutes after I sat down, she was out with her phone on, turning the volume up, talking to the neighbour on the other side of her about how funny it would be to aggravate me (I heard this clearly). This isn't the first time this has now happened.

could you listen to something of you own with decent noise cancelling headphones when you want to enjoy time in your garden?

Plus, once she realises it's not bothering you anymore and you are continuing to use the garden, it may well die down.

I second honeypop's idea. The neighbour probably isn't doing to now to listen to the music but because it's fun to upset you.

When you stop reacting, it won't be fun any more.

That leads to two possibilities - things settle down or she tries to find something else that will irritate you. Be aware so that you can pretend you're not bothered - don't give the bully ammunition.

Yes but did you read the court case or in the paper.

Imagine that, one time a stereo is confiscated after I believe it was years, and it makes national news. - its not the commonly done thing

'quiet enjoyment' doesn't have anything to do with noise, so that article is absolute rubbish :)
