Hand tight isn't enough. The washer needs squeezing against the outlet tap. Adjustable spanner or mole grips needed.
This. Simple as, i have NEVER been able to tighen these enough by hand, always used mole grips after tightening by hand to the max and always managed at least a full turn more which seems to make the difference between "WATER FKINGEVERYHERE, PANIC!" and "ahh, all is good with the world..."0 -
Sometimes the thread on the tap side is too short to allow the hose to tighten up enough to compress the washer and a second rubber washer packs it out enough to make a seal. Glad it worked.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0
