Dishwasher plumbing driving me mad

The hose is screwed on as tight as my hand will take it, not done with a spanner or anything. I have removed the tape0

Perhaps the thread has gone on the hose you have? New hose is cheap: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p71370?table=no0

Hi ic. I bought a new hose today but that didn't work. The same problem occurred, the water just poured out. I am so confused about this!0

Double up the rubber washers in the hose if you have to - its a 3/4" hose washer. Tighten the hose on with waterpump pliers or something similar (a mole wrench / locking pliers will probably do it) until you feel the rubber washer pressing against the metal. Its as easy as that. The thread should not make the seal so no PTFE tape required.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

You have a hot supply as well so as a test connect the hose to that to see if the same happens.0

As above, try nipping it up with some grips. In fairness, these should seal by hand.
If it's definitely fitted properly, with washers in all the right places, definitely tight and definitely not the hose all I can think is a hairline crack on the outlet of the valve.0 -
Should seal by hand, but not everyone can grip them tight enough to turn them when the washer needs compressing.Hand tight isn't enough. The washer needs squeezing against the outlet tap. Adjustable spanner or mole grips needed.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Hi everyone - thank you so much for your help.
In the end the double washer suggestion seemed to be the one! I tightened up with a spanner and everything but same problem in both the hot and cold taps. I put an extra washer in and it seems to be holding out!
I've put it on a short cycle so I can check whether there are any leaks as it goes, but it's looking good! Thanks again0
