Dishwasher plumbing driving me mad

Hi guys, please help me
I bought a Bosch dishwasher off gumtree, which I know is always a risk but, moneysaving and all that. I can't for the life of me get it plumbed in.
We moved into this house about 2 months ago so haven't used the existing plumbing space for a dishwasher before. But there were available cold and hot taps under the sink and a place to put the waste pipe and a good space for the dishwasher under the counter so I didn't anticipate any problems.
When I screw the inlet hoser onto the cold pipe, it goes on really nicely. But when I then turn the blue tap so the water can flow through, it just pours out of the back of the white nut screw head.
I have tried replacing the rubber washer - although an exact size couldn't be found. I have tried replacing the entire hose with a new one and the water still pours out. What am I doing wrong? I have also tried wrapping teflon tape around the cold pipe thread.
this isn't just a slow drip of water its basically the whole lot.
At one point when the inlet hose wasn't attached to the dishwasher I tried to fit it with the hose going into the sink to catch any water and it worked! I got excited and thought it was a fluke, but I then attached the other end to the dishwasher again and it wasn't working any more. Don't know if it had to do with the angle or what?? Anyway it just isn't working and I don't know what else to do!
I would attach pictures but I am not allowed. I did upload them to a flickr account with the username roz-evans though. Thanks!

Our Bosch dishwasher has a solenoid valve on the water supply hose. Does yours? Does it need one?0

indeed, I think all borsch have an aquatop valve?
If this is the case I guess the clip might have come off the internal hose.
The outer plastic jacket unclips and then you can look.
DISCONNECT MAINS AND UNPLUG FIRST (and the water of course)
Clip is shown on the far left (this is a replacement part with no hose shown):
If not there is a good chance its broken. you can get replacements ebay/amazon etc. get the right one though there are a few variants, and you need to be able to solder to replace it, unless it has connectors like above.
If it doesn't look like this then fast forward to next advice :-)0 -
Here's the photos:0

OK so its not an aquastop :-)
Have you tried it with no PTFE tape to ensure it's fully home on the washer?0 -
You are using the wrong end. The end with the 90 degree turn on it (the one in your picture) goes on the dishwasher. The straight end goes on to the outlet.
And don't use PTFE. Its not needed on these.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your replies! I've just popped out but seen them and I really appreciate it.
I picked the dishwasher up with the hose attached like this with the 90 degree angle not at the machine end, perhaps they accidentally put it on wrong! I'll try and switch it around when I get home later and see what happens thanks so much ☺️0 -
It really shouldn't matter which end goes where, the fittings are the same.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

It doesn't look tightened up to meI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
