    Thinking of you Nelski.
FBO, it sounds like you did the right thing for your peace of mind.
JO, happy birthday to Miky and Henry.

I had a rubbish night's sleep. I kept waking up unable to breathe because of the cold and swollen throat I have.

I sorted the "gifted" bedding (gifted is in quote marks because I often feel that people foist things on you that they don't want themselves but don't want to dispose of properly) although it took me a while to find somewhere to get rid of it. There is no parking near the charity shops in Skipton so I was looking for a textile bank in a car park. Finally found one for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which is a good cause I'm happy to support.

I also managed to finish the jigsaw I was struggling with, only to find there is a piece missing (CS buy) so now I don't know whether to donate it (with a message on about the missing piece) or get rid of it - what do you think?

I've not heard from DD for a few days, she's at the whisky festival in Islay. I feel as if a piece of me is missing when we don't speak for more than a couple of days which is ridiculous I know.

I'd better get on as time is slipping away, have a good day everyone.

    He's gorgeous, nannywindow.

Woke up early and had a nice long shower and shampoo as thought someone might arrive to paint the upstairs bedroom.

Washing machine has been on and I have stripped the big bed. Just about to have brunch and no sign of painter yet.

Volunteering at library this afternoon and expecting a couple of deliveries today so hoping they arrive this morning.

Hugs to all especially nelski and FBO

Good morning everyone thanks to Judi for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

My Dad popped by really early for a cuppa  and proceeded to burst my bubble by telling me I looked awful! Until that point I was for me having a reasonable start but my balance etc. is always worse first thing until the meds kick in and I had just run the gauntlet of having a shower so was still finding my feet. I managed to avoid letting rip and pointed out that it was early and he knew I struggled in the morning.... Doubt it will stop the early calls though:mad:

Anyway weather looks promising so hoping to get some more gardening done this afternoon which will improve my mood. I can finally see a difference in the garden which really gives me pleasure.:D

Nelski - hugs to you and yours
nannywindow - aw gorgeous puppy :)

Hope everyone has good day x

Get a bolt for the door! You need to be able to be safe in your own home and unexpected early morning calls could result in you having a fall or an accident.

Thanks elona - not a bad idea but his heart's in the right place and he would have a major panic if the place was locked up and assume I'd had a mishap.... Last thing I need is the emergency services descending when I'm in the shower , partial though I am to a man in uniform there's a time and a place lol ......:);)

Would you have bought it knowing there was a missing piece?

Prodigal has come to see me. He didnt want anything, but looked so good. Clean, tidy and in new clothes.

I told him that we loved him and he gave me a great big hug before he left.... Made my day that has.:)

Thanks Judi - I'm going to do what I was annoyed about earlier and pass it on to my Sis-i-l so she can decide whether to make it or not. Hah, sweet revenge for all the things she's managed to foist on me.

What a cute puppy Nannywidow - I'm sure he'll bring great pleasure to all the family.

Lovely to hear such positive news about your son Judi, perhaps a corner has been turned.

Dumpling - enjoy your grandchildren, they will lift your spirits.

I'm back from work and from having my car valeted! It's so good inside (especially), the woman had her work cut out so I gave her some extra dosh for her efforts. And she found the two lost phone slipcovers, just when my third new is due to arrive tomorrow. :o

Whilst I was out my lovely neighbour brought down another trailer full of wood, took out all the earlier stuff and stacked them all properly. He's a star. I insist on paying for the wood as he has to do all the work, a good workman is worth his pay. Now I can rest easy for the next year or two.

My pair of red rose bushes at the front door are in blossom, they look so fabulous, very small roses but loads of them. Some are coming out and some are just budding. They look so different from the bare root sticks I planted in December.

Right, I'm off to beat my DM's rug which has been in my freezer for two weeks. There's loads of moth debris / remains to get out. Unfortunately there's already a lot of damage to the rug, it's such a shame.

    Happy afternoon to all.
