    Morning everyone,

I spent a couple of hours sorting out the hall cupboard yesterday and can now see what is in there, so it was certainly worth taking the time to do it.

My SIL is coming over with my niece today and they want to go out for lunch somewhere if we can think of anywhere that is fairly cheap and won’t be too busy as it is half term. So far I haven’t been able to come up with anything that ticks both of those boxes so will have to think a bit harder before they get here.

We had quite a few showers yesterday and I’m hoping that they hold off today because I’ve got one load of washing to go out shortly and want to put another load in the wm.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

    Morning

Try to enjoy some time off FBO you never know a new job could be just around the corner.

Blue sky here and seems quite warm :)

Dreading the next 48 hrs but will be so relieved when its over and I can start to think normality again. Brother and wife flying in today which is good as now he can do the running round in the car bit. Mum is still seemingly OK but she is going to need a lot of support I can see that she is putting on a front for us but its pretty transparent.
I am reading a poem which I am now wishing i had not agreed to as I struggle to get through it on my own so goodness knows what a mess I will be tomorrow. Need to do it for Dad though :o

Lovely Asda delivery have just arrived so I have no need to worry about food for the next few days but my brother is now saying he wants to eat out tonight ...noooooo I really would rather have chicken and chips and stay in ....eating out has lost its lustre over the last few weeks. Love my Asda man hes always so jolly and quite happy to bring all your shopping into the kitchen ....reckon he would put it away if I asked :rotfl:

Need to put their bedding on and have a quick hoover round the bedroom. Bathroom rarely gets used so just needs a wipe down to make sure it meets the SILs standards.

Hope you all have a lovely day

I put a quilt in it last week that I think got stuck so the bin wasn't emptied. Took the quilt to the tip.

It might help by preventing this happening again, by making sure the sides and bottom of the wheelie bin is bone dry before you put heavy or bulky items in. If there is the least bit of moisture, things tend to stick to the side of the bin and refuse to come out when the bin is turned upside down.

I use a deodorizing powder each time my bin is emptied to make sure there is plenty of 'slip' (and cause it smells nice) but i suppose you could use cheap washing powder or anything like that.

    Good morning everyone,

Not sure what the forecast is but it's sunny for now.

As expected, my step-bro visited the flat last night. He sat and ate a chippy while my friend came over to try and fit my TV to the wall but we're missing some parts, so that'll be completed tonight.
    Must've nodded off about 10.30 I recon.

Up and at em today. Been to the gym this morning but given I've my friend coming over again tonight then I'll need to home home straight after work.

Not much else to report. Have a lovely day everyone.

FurryBeast - I'm a big advocate of yoga. Not as easy as it looks.
Jackie - Busy week for birthdays. Have you gifts lined up?
Nelski - I've given a speech at my grandads funeral before. I was fine up until the last line when I think I felt a relief that I managed to get through it without messing up and my voice then broke a bit. I found the nerves kept me from breaking down. Sending you hugs.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I've been feeling a bit flat for the past few days and I am not too sure why. I think it probably is just the stress of the past few months catching up with me. I definitely need some more sleep as you could camp out in the bags under my eyes :o.

The grand children are coming round to see us after lunch I have missed them so much whilst they have been on holiday to Turkey. I'm sure they will be full of stories of their time away. I can't wait to see them.

I think I need to change my shampoo again. I have been using Bodyshop's ginger shampoo for the past year but my scalp is getting very sore again. I can't use most brands as they make my head actually bleed and I had heard the ginger shampoo was very gentle. If any of you have a recommendation I will be very interested.

FBO, I am sorry to hear about your job. Please don't undo all your hard work with your diet, you have been an inspiration, not only with your weight loss but also your running and getting fit again. I hope something better comes along for you x
Nelski, I am still thinking about you and your family, hope you manage to get through reading the poem x

I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

yes thats exactly the point I am losing it ...maybe I don't mind if its just the last line as long as I dont lose it on the first line
  • Morning, (((((((((( hugs )))))))))) if you need one.

Nelski, thoughts very much with you and your family just now.

Nice morning. Have friends coming for a cuppa this afternoon, need to make scones. Still in bed, I planted some stuff up yesterday afternoon, arms very sore this morning, need to stand under a hot shower to free them up a bit. I am getting increasingly unable to do what I want to do in the garden, very frustrating.

OH is going for a haircut, he is bowling with his afternoon, eating at lunchtime, we are going to try two of the ready meals I got.

Time to get myself into the shower...........

    Morning everyone,

Late up this morning and feeling poo after a rubbish nights sleep.

My plan for today is a visit to the GC as I have a thought to put a few alpine plants in amongst my herb pots which stand on stones near the back door, also have a couple of spaces in the border under the lounge window. It's in full sun most of the day so am thinking a couple of grasses to add texture, will take a list but to me plants are like shoes to other ladies, addictive :)
Not sure about tea, have some veggie burgers in the freezer so maybe those with roasted veg couscous.

Sorry to hear about your job FBO hope something comes up soon.
Hugs to Nelski it's a tough thing to do but for the rest of your life you will be glad you did.

Have a good day all x

I'm back, I hope, I have my fingers crossed ! The phone engineer was here at 8am, bless him. You know the saying that you know that you're getting old when policemen look young ? Well it now applies to phone engineers ! It didn't help that he looked like Joe 90, complete with large horn rimmed glasses, knee length shorts and referred to DH as " mate ":rotfl:.
In other news I'm still coughing and have had very little sleep and I'm on my third bottle of cough medicine. My cough seems to alternate between dry and loose, rinse and repeat.
The DW has been emptied and refilled and the WM is on, as the weather forecast says sunny spells later.
    Big news now .............
My DD and family have a new addition, a border terrier pup called Rafa. I haven't physically seen him yet as I don't want to infect anybody else.
Will try and upload a photo with the help of DH later
    Have a good day everyone
